Dissidia: I stink at using Jecht, can anyone help?

He has the same move concept as Cloud of Darkness where he has only one (physical) move per Ground and Aerial and a different button press changes how the move works.

However I cann't figure out the timing, CoD was easy, just press the O button at different times, but I can't seem to figure out Jecht enough to actually make him usual, and will almost always use his weakest combo (or no combo). I will occassionally rush forward, but that's rare and I can't get the big chains or chain with any HP attacks. Does anyone have any advice on how to make playing Jecht's combo's easier?
