Kefka wants Terra? Yeah, and Kefka wants Leo, Celes and the leader of the returners too.

Who saved, escorted and, through his friendship with the king, stowed Terra in that castle in the first place? Locke.

That last part is ridiculous. Celes can use magic. And everyone else (albeit via magicite) can too.

I just started playing this awesome game yesterday. I haven't gotten to any part with someone named Celes.

And if one of you says Gau, I'm going to start jumping up and down into a spamming fit and throw my computer across the room. The cutscene where he joins just wouldn't end....

^Let me tell you, be patient with Gau. If you teach him the right Rages, he'll become one of your best characters.

Oh, and those scenes are the best part of the game.

You'll be meeting Celes very soon. -CSM

Gau is one of the most powerful characters in the game. That said...

Locke is another huge supporting character. He's the "heroic male" archetype, but a supporting member all the same. Locke only shines when Terra (and Celes, to a lesser extent) aren't present. Once those two return, he takes a back seat again.
Not to mention, Locke has almost no baring on the story in the WOR. Terra and Celes have huge impacts even in that part of the game.

IRHP I like ya but you're on my turf don't make me get ugly.

Terra is the only Naturely born mage (For the sake of One Up and others I'll try to keep some secrets) in the game. Even tough John and Jane later on have mage like skills they still arn't really born mages like Terra given her, background, she also has the most to lose when the game is over.

It is terra who is given the most importance in the begining of the game Locke's backstory is entirly optinal and while it gives some insight into why he acts the way he does we are reminded early and often how important Terra is. Let's also not forget that she is the key to many plot essentail puzzles and plans in game along with how she appears at the end of the game regaurdless if you recrute her or not.

All of that said and done one must admit that Kefka is a great villain who is not easly forgotten and steals the spotlight with an ease that would put Lupin the III to shame.

To be fair you could consider Locke a main character for some time. No, Locke is never the protagonist, but we do hear the story from his point of view for some of the game (the Zozo arc, mainly). In my view, the main character isn't the protagonist of the story, but the narrator. Locke is the narrator during the Zozo arc, so he's the main character for that small timeframe, even though Terra is still the protagonist.

Now, during the Thamasa arc (and for most of the WoB), Terra is both the protagonist AND the main character, since she is not only the focus of the story, but also the one who tells it. -CSM

The only convincing argument for Terra is that she appears in the end. I didn't know that. Do any other characters, namely Locke, show up despite a lack of recruitment?

Well...whatever. =P

So, is her part in the ending large, significant or minimal? And answer honestly and unbias...ly? *Grasps for straws*

It's the same part she'd have otherwise. -CSM
