I absolutely hate hip-hop or rap, because I think the only reasons it's so popular is mass hysteria. People think they need to listen to rap just to be "cool". Just my opinion, though.

Back on the band topic: I also kinda like Simple Plan. Kinda.

You're ****ing wrong. So ****ing wrong. Listen to more hip-hop. It's been said before that Soulja Boy =/= all hip-hop. There are many great hip-hop artists. Public Enemy, Run-DMC, OutKast, and Nas to name just a few.

Nobody listens to hip-hop just to be "cool". Well, probably some people do. But those people are ****ing tools. Why do I listen to hip-hop? Because I like the sound. I listen to hip-hop, and nobody comes up to me and says, "Wow, Panfan! You're so cool!" because I'm not. I'm not popular at all. And a vast majority of people who do listen to hip-hop (the ones that aren't ****ing tools) listen to it because, shocker, they like the sound of the music.

Also, "rap" is a way to perform a song. If you say you hate all "rap", you're saying you hate some rock as well. Beastie Boys (though they kinda go both ways), Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, and a bunch of others are classified as rock bands who rap in their songs. So I guess all people who listen to those bands are tools as well, eh?

Most mainstream rap sucks. Lil Jon, 50 Cent, Puff Daddy, Snoop Dogg, and those guys, they all suck. No. This is a list of rappers that don't suck:

^^ Agreed, although I just don't like how most rap sounds, then again, I'm just a bandwagon rider. Most of rap seems to be pointless, that I've heard anyway.

I dislike rap because I dislike rap, not just mainstream rap. I at least don't go RAP IS ONLY POPULAR BECAUSE IT IS STYLISH.

Pop on the other hand needs to burn in hell and I don't care how many people are pissed off on the way.

I'm too lazy to come up with a list right now, but I'm pretty much a fan of pop and some rock, and the occasional hip-hop.

I'm pretty open-minded in the way of music. I used to be a 'RAP SUXXORZ' person, but I've come to realize that it's best to listen to something before deciding you despise it.

^^Try Massive Attack. They have 'lolrap" in their music, yet cram musical complexity and dense undertones into their music. It's better than that FLStudio produced **** Soulja Boy uses, by more than forty-million lightyears. So do a lot of other great acts. And according to some members here, that Lupe Fiasco guy is good, but I have yet to hear anything other than "Kick, Push".

panfan is right though,I don't like metal that much but a few of linkin park's songs are. Though some metal songs are just bad like that song by System of a Down where they are singing about Alcoholic Mushroom People

That doesn't apply to me. I actually listened to at least 50 different artists and about 300 songs before deciding that rap wasn't my type of music. I was only trying to express my opinion and I'm sorry if anyone was offended.

^My busdriver listens to country all the time, so I just bring my SanDisk on the bus. I like a little country, like Garth Brooks, but I'd hate to listen to it for more than 30 minutes a day.
