Uh....Cecil? Locke? Edgar? Sabin? Cyan? Gau? Kain? Hell, even Zell?ZeldaGirl wrote:Ramza is the only male protagonist in the FF series I actually liked the entire game (Balthier notwithstanding...though I consider him XII's official male lead, I know others do not). Others, like Zidane, were tolerable near the entire game, whereas the rest just got on my nerves.
Don't make me go on here!

No she's not - she mentions Balthier (or FFXII in general) as a point of contention, and Balthier (or Basch, or even Vaan) absolutely cannot be considered the central figures of the story that they play into.

Right, but FFXII doesn't have any male leads as the central character in the story. The strongest argument could be made for Ashe.

^^I'm not arguing about that. I agree with that statement. And saying that, out of the three male protagonists, I like to think Balthier as the actual "leading man" (haha, I so punny).
But it's irrelevant, and doesn't change the fact that out of the true male protagonists, Ramza is the one I actually like the most.
^Well, honestly, I wouldn't say that. I say that the story is actually presented from an outside party, and no character really "tells" the story.

As always, Wy is wrong.
Lighten up, Francis. Must everything be turned into an arguement about FF12?
Anyway, I since I didn't like FFT all that much, I never really liked Ramza either. He seemed rather boring. In fact, I don't even remember anymore what impact (if any) he had on the story of the game.
Plus, in my game, I named him "JAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!".
It was funny to hear people yell JAY!!!!!!!!!!!! all the time.

So anyone wanna compare Ramza to another character from similar games? Magnus Gallant, maybe, or Destin Faroda, or Lans Tartare?

Yes, Lans Tartare is a lot like Ramza - Was the story perchance done by the same people as Tactics Ogre as well? I know many other parts of Final Fantasy Tactics were.Wyborn wrote:So anyone wanna compare Ramza to another character from similar games? Magnus Gallant, maybe, or Destin Faroda, or Lans Tartare?

Final Fantasy Tactics in general was created by the team that created Tactics Ogre and Ogre Battle. Now it's even more true since S-E bought Quest.
So Ramza is an unmitigated, unstoppable bad-ass comparable to Richard the Dragonheart, then?
