At the review section of a game at Game FAQs, there are always people who think an astounding game is horribly stupid and vice versa. At least that's how it is with the popular games. Unpopular games are rarely even reviewed at all.

-A Genius (If your thinking of buying a game based on reviews from GameFAQs, it's usually best to see what the majority of reviewers wrote, and ignore the other people.
EDIT: Speaking of Sandworms, I doubt they're your best freinds if you're going to kill them.)

Phantasy Star has always been a relatively awful series.%&$# You. If you suck, deal with it and play something else.

Even the first Phantasy Star was plagued with sickeningly common random encounters. So does every other great classic RPG.

my guess is that the people who liked this game aren't comparing it to it's SNES cousins.Macro system? This game has no real equal on the SNES. (Chrono is good, but its not the same kind of rpg)

Compare these dungeons to FF3's and then give this game a perfect graphics score, well Phantasy Star fanboys? The Genesis is a weaker system, retard.

The monsters are equally just as bad, considering the majority of monsters are just palette swaps of another monster. And this game has monster animations, something FF didn't have until VII.

(Music)but in the second half of the game they draw the line in terms of variety. You like rap, I like rock. Whatever. Music tastes differ. (But PSIV has some of my favorite game themes)

Sadly enough, the same song is used in every single battle you fight in, except for boss battles. A) Most rpgs do this.
B)It's the game's best song.

only two types of dungeons in this game: High-tech and caves.Air Castle? Rykros? The Edge?

This game uses the standard RPG turn-based battle system. It uses one of the most innovative systems, with macros and combination attacks. It also has Special attacks as well as magic, and very innovative weapon attack designs. Plus, ATB sucks.

it's necessary to level up A LOT in the second half of the game. I can beat this game without stopping to level, except its more fun when you annhilate the PD at lv70 or so.(You can beat the game at lv 35-45)

walking in circles for 5-6 hours in the Air Castle just to beat a boss. You suck. Lassic isn't that hard. I didn't have to level at all in Air Castle. Plus, Air Castle is the hardest dungeon in the game.

I beat the game without even knowing what half of the techs did. So you're stupid. Who cares. There's nothing wrong with 'mystical' names. Plus: Gra(Gravity) Tsu(Thunder) Foi/Flaeli(Fire) Wat(Water) isn't hard.

they decided to drag it out for the sole purpose of a longer game. They dragged it out to give a definite end to the series. If they stopped at the first DF then we'd have 11 Phantasy Stars, like we do FF.
