Either way, I still highly doubt that I'll even be renting that game.

I looked at my friend's EGM today, and there is hope, because the glorious Cait Sith is playable!

The article said that the game tries to break away from the RPG genre and is more of a third person shooter with some elements of stealth (similar to MGS), but might contain some RPG elements.

I'll probably check it out.

It's a Monopoly type game, from the sound of it, rather than a Mario Party type of game. This, in a way, is fortunate, because I doubt the Square-Enix teams can make as good minigames as Nintendo.
They could do the same thing with the Dragon Warrior Monsters series which is currently MIA

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, KH2's release date has been set for September 2005 for a while now. So face it.

^That's a turd date from gamefaqs. KH2's only known release date is that it shows up after FF12. Because it's not happening until after the "bigger" hits from Square is released, Kh2 will inevitably be delayed by the increased projects Squenix is working on...

As I said, If KH2 isn't out in Japan by June, I'm going to hunt them down and smack them for it.

But Cait Sith is the cat, not the moogle.

I didn't think Cait Sith was that bad.

There's only one problem with this, ladies and gentlemen.

People will still buy it.

That's right. Seen the Gamefaqs polls? FF7 fanboys run rampant in the streets. Therefore, it's profitable to make such games... I don't like it, you don't like it, but there's not much we can do about it. Sorry... but that's the way the cookie crumbles :\
Video Gamerz Network boards will be back up shortly after a change of hosting. Thanks for not caring.

I hope you get to play as the cat part of Cait Sith (What's his name again? Reeve?) and not him riding that hideous moogle.

And the whole point is that if Square-Enix keeps pumping out Final Fantasy 7 spinoff after Final Fantasy 7 spinoff, many old fans will lose respect and eventually, even the Final Fantasy 7 hippies may lose their respect for Square.

Doesn't surprise me much, besides the fact it's like 7 years later. Hell zelda had a couple spinoffs. Although i forget if they all came out yet. Haven't been paying too much attention to it beyond the actual zelda game coming out.

^You referring to "Link: Faces of Evil", "Zelda: Wand of Gamelon" and "Zelda's Adventure"?

I was thinking of the tetra's trackers game, the gamecube four swords (kinda cool except i believe you need GBAs and the GBA-GC cable) and i thought there was something else coming out but can't remember.

Oh, you were referring to the recent ones. I didn't know about the Tetra Tracker one...

My, how square needs to learn. I never really got that much in to FF7, though I did like Sephiroth.
4 is enough, but all we need now is a game where you play as Red XIII. They need more FF9 spinoffs, because I liked that game way better.

Isn't FF VII becoming very much Square-Enix's Zelda?

Nah. I don't think we need any at all since they sorta cleared everything up at the end. (Same with Final Fantasy 7, but Square-Enix forgot that  ) Unless of course they have Kuja SOMEHOW survive (I know Zidane survived, but Kuja got on helluva beating beforehand and was pretty weak when Zidane got to him) or decide to create an adventure starring Beatrix, a prequel, or a gaiden.

What Square-Enix REALLY needs to do, seeing as Musashi Samurai Legend is coming out very soon, is remake Seiken Denetsu 3 and bring it out to America. THAT IS YOUR ONLY WAY TO REDEEM YOURSELF FOR SECRET OF EVERMORE!!
