Is it just me or does Enix put out sub-standard games in comparison with Square? I hope their merger won't bring Square down.
Enix has put out some good stuff though. Robotrek was fun and I think the original Ogrebattle for SNES was published by Enix. Don't forget the DQ series either.
Top ten reasons that Square is better than Enix:
10. Square's name is cooler
9. Far superior graphically
8. Square's games have cooler names
7. The main characters for Square's games have better hair.
59. Square's games have better battle systems
5. Square's games have better magic systems
4. I have no number four. The number four no longer exists
3. The villain's of Square's games are far more interesting and powerful
2. I hated 7th Saga
1. Square's games have the better storylines by far

CK: If you want another Enix game, check out Robotrek for the SNES. It's my personal favorite, and somewhat different for a RPG.

I hear Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 are supposed to kick major booty. I've been looking for them, but on eBay they're almost as expensive as Mega Man X3.

It's a pretty good game. I think that the Mega Man Battle Network series is copying Robotrek.Originally posted by Herringway:

The fact that Megaman is your PET reminds of the robots from Robotrek. I doubt you can turn into a mouse or anything though.Originally posted by Herringway:

Top ten reasons that Enix is better than Square
10. Enix's name is cooler.
9. Enix does not simply jump on the graphics bandwagon.
8. Enix was the one acquiring during the merger.
7. Enix has sensible nomenclature in the games.
6. Enix does not hasten into the pseudo-stream-of-consciousness trap for storylines.
5. Enix did not make FFVIII.
4. Enix did not make CC.
3. Enix games had better battle systems.
2. Enix published the Star Ocean series.
1. Enix was the first to publish Ogre Battle series.

I'm still curious to know why Falco thinks "Square" (er... you DO know what it means to "be square", right?) is cooler than the last four letters of the word "Phoenix".

Well, four NES Dragon Warriors were released here. III and IV are supposed to kick butt.
Ddid you see my post to T2K when he said he barely played Enix? Same for you.
I got Dragon Warrior IV in the mail yesterday. After I returned Skies of Arcadia (and checked for Wario World... which they had finally made availible for rent, but were all rented out!), I popped it into my NES. So far, it's good. I've only played it for an hour, so I'm not saying "BEST NES RPG EVER!" just yet.

Don't get me wrong, I have much love for Enix. Particularly for number one on the Ill-Made Knight's list (I loved Ogre Battle and it's evil Liches). Dragon Quest was also my first RPG. But when Square and Enix were in their glory days, I prefered Square.
But it doesn't matter anymore. It's Square-Enix now, so they have the same name.

You set a very lousy first impression with me about how you like Enix. To me, that post with the list you made screamed "ENIX SUCKS". As a result, I think you hate Enix.
Is it just me or does Enix put out sub-standard games in comparison with Square? I hope their merger won't bring Square down.
And that's the main reason I think that.

You must have a low oppinion of Square if you think I hate Enix. Notice that I said "in comparison to Square." I think Square puts out software of better quality than Enix. That is all.
