I played a little of it on Saturday.

Not that far into the game, I met a little boy named Jinn, and his nomad clan.

This is a nomad parent: "Hey, let's send our children to the area where there are many werewolves and other dangerous creatures to make sunstones so as a chore so we don't have to do it!"
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

Things that suck about FF12:

1. The Liscence Board. Lame, Lame, Lame.
2. The Limit Breaks (Or whatever the hell they're called this time.) Pointless and Lame. Oh, and they use all of your MP, which is extra lame.
3. The fact that ALL of the characters are the same, skill and ability wise. Um......what the hell is the point of having six different characters then? Why not just give me three blobs. This is my BIGGEST complaint so far. It's just so lame. You can have ANY character do ANYTHING. No uniqueness. Not even the Limit Breaks are unique. GIVE ME SOMETHING! BAH!
4. Why does everyone have a dirty ass face??? WASH YOUR DAMN FACES ALREADY!!! AHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and everyone has a stupid looking nose.
5. We waited over SIX years for THIS???
6. Oh, and Vaan. He sucks.

Things that don't suck:

1. Balthier. That's it.

Besides that, all I've seen from FF12 is overreacted hype.-jay

Quickenings. It's not all that lame since just walking around regenerates MP.

The point of having six characters is so that when Vaan's standing alone, surrounded by enemies, with fifteen HP left, you can swap in full health party members. ...Basically, it makes it easier that way. :p

You're definitely right about Balthier, though.

Oh, thanks for reminding me.

7. MP regeneration like bunnies. Makes the game way too easy.

The game is easy enough. It doesn't need made easier with six redundent characters and MP regeneration.-jay

You'll have to forgive Jay. He's much more of an oldschool Square player than I am. And I've been flamed all across the internet for being an old schooler. -CSM

Pf. I hate most new games and I like it. :/
I mean, most new games now are just fizzarking-- fsck --remakes of something or attempts to drag something out. Like Warcraft. It was good until they made an MMORPG. Just use novels.
Or, I hate to admit it, Soul Calibur III. Good, nice way to continue the story, create-a-character was really lacking and the controls for 'original' weapons were really, really messy.

FFXII is actually really good. I've just started playing it, and it's probably the best one since IX, or maybe even VI. -CSM

The Gambit system bores me. I want to fight my battles not watch them. I can only play for a little while at a time before I want to do something more active.

Yeah, I find it awesome, just not better than IX. The character cast this time around is a bit more well rounded, as I felt, for the first time since FF9, that the characters weren't just generic photocopier characters with cheesy backstories. They felt like they had conflicting pasts, unique personalities, emotions, and actually seemed a bit cooler than a lot of the characters from a while back. The designer who worked on this project (name escapes me) is just another person who can officially say, "I'm better than Nomura", because the art of the characters and such is truly good. I especially like Zargabaath's design. To tell the truth, even the composer surprised me. Although he's no Uematsu, the music still fit the FF spirit, albeit that it was slightly annoying in a few areas.

Oh yeah, and Balthier. He's awesome.

So, yeah, FF12 is really good. I'm impressed, as the difficulty level seems to have been uped a bit since FF10 (FF10 was too damned easy), and therefore I have quite a few nights to go through this worthy addition to the Final Fantasy series.

FFXII Rocks! The best one yet becouse I dont have to take turns to fight!
Sitting in this room playing Russian roulette,
Finger on the trigger to my dear Juliet,
Out from the window see her back drop silhouette,
This blood on my hands is something I cannot forget,
