http://www.chronocompendium.com/Stories/36.html

Entitled "Chrono Cross: The Good, the Bad, and the Fans."

Basically, Chrono series experts try to take a neutral stance in one of the few debates that rivals the FFVI/FFVII debate, and decide a very intelligent opinion on Chrono Cross, a game that many, including myself, consider to be good but dissapointing.

Jay and Bolt (if he was still around) would get a kick out of it. -CSM

I'm sure Jay still will if he ever decides to have a look in here.

Somehow I think Bolt was the only reason he came around here to begin with. -CSM

There wasn't just a preference for me. I found little to enjoy in Cross - the characters, island setting - all of it. They're not my style. I didn't like the new systems, and I didn't like the way it tramples the original's characters and story in hopes of finding a place for a sequel.

Flaws: Cross raped Trigger's solidarity. How about that?
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

The thing was, in these debates, it was Bolt vs EVERYBODY. T2K, the mod of this forum at the time, took Jay's side, as did a lot of others. -CSM

Looks like a good reference. I need to read that soon, when it's not 2am (like it is now).

I haven't played it in years, but my general conclusion on CC has been that it was a good, enjoyable game to play, but

It just completely sucks when compared to Chrono Trigger and it completely ruined the Chrono Trigger story.

That, and,

LLLLLUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCAAAAA!!!!!

BASTARDS!!!

-jay

[Edit]

Oh, and while me and Bolt's arguements looked fun, I generally hated them, as I generally hate all arguements.

But what was even more fun was the time when Bolt tried to argue that the last two Matrix movies didn't suck.-jay

I remember those old days of the Chrono Trigger debate. I have CC, have played through it a couple of times but as the article says it's more an addendum to CT then a sequel. I love CT, I tolerate CC.
