Huh. So Lego's announced a new theme----------Animal Crossing. It doesn't launch until next year, and they haven't announced any set names yet, just that there are five planned at this moment (they've got five set numbers reserved for the theme).

You know, I didn't play any but the first Animal Crossing game, and yet I played and liked it enough that I can see getting a Nook's Cranny Lego set (I assume that's one of the five--------it almost has to be). It's iconic, and like no duh I'd want a Tom Nook minifig if there were one on offer. Ooh, K. K. Slider, too.

Seems like a logical franchise crossover. I'd admittedly be tempted by an Earthbound set should one manifest, maybe Star Fox.

Even though Animal Crossing isn't my kinda thing, recently I have been wanting to try the GameCube one. You know, just out of curiosity, it's one of my favorite systems after all,

...you know, it's a good no-stress game. I never could relax whilst playing Harvest Moon, nor even really in 'Viva Pinata' (if you fall asleep playing VP, you're like to wake up to eaten/poisoned pinatas and a trashed garden), but AC is really laid-back and calm.

Yeah, I love Harvest Moon and it seems at a glance to be the kind of game where you'd be able to relax, but the timer is actually pretty strict and it makes the in-game days sort of stressful. Same for Pikmin.

...I can't speak for any Harvest Moon game except for the GBC one, but that one...once the farm gets big enough, every day is just a pell-mell sprint from dawn to dusk. Not relaxing.

I can't imagine having a calm mellow time playing 'Pikmin'. It's like 'Harvest Moon', but if every so often you had to gather up all the turnips and potatoes and eggs you'd farmed so far and pelt a 'Dark Souls' boss to death with them.

I think the GBC version is a port of the SNES one,but all the classic ones are pretty equally hectic in my experience anyway.

Yeah, you know, I think anything with a time limit just can't be a kicked back experience. Just like Pikmin, Majora's Mask is a classic but I feel like I can't enjoy it. Nintendo sure likes their time limits huh?

...there's new Lego ships.

I still don't care about the current Lego pirate ship. Still kind of weak. But I'll tell you what grabbed my eye was the Nightmare Shark Ship. Like...holy friggin crap! That's the bad-guyest bad-guy ship ever! Jeez Louise!

Dreamzzz is a fun theme. I'm cool with this.

I also got Moana's boat. Not as big a deal, but I like a catamaran.

...some competitor made a steampunk airship out of fake Legos-‐-‐----it could almost be Girl Genius. Soon.

Nightmare Shark Ship is a pretty badass name, kinda brings to mind Johnny's haunted ship from SMRPG.

So the Series 25 blind bags are out. I bought two six-packs, and I got the three minifigs I really wanted (Harpy, Lady Berserker and Vampire Warrior), so now I'm done. Couple nice surprises (I like Mushroom Girl and E-Sports Champeen), but I don't care about completing the set.

Hmmm. So I bought two six-packs of the series 27 blind bags, and I got the entire set of twelve in one go. Either I had the luckiest draw ever, or the six-packs aren't even remotely randomised any more. Kind of takes some of the fun out of it.

My wife got me this one for Christmas:

Initially I was going to do the OoT build for nostalgia's sake, but I kinda just prefer the look of the BotW build.

My in-laws also happened to get my wife and I a random D&D Lego minifig each. My wife actually lucked into a dragonborn paladin, which is kinda cool considering that she's playing exactly that in the D&D campaign we're playing with some friends of ours.

^Man. You know, I liked the D&D blind bags, but I did two boxes and didn't get the Lich, the Mind Flayer or Lord Strahd. Oh, I got two of the stupid smelly Druid, though, so like who could complain. Ish da.

^^That looks like a super cool build. I was kind of thinking of getting that, or maybe Eldorado Fortress, but then LEGO put out a new Blacktron spaceship on New Years. That was a surprise.

...there's no end of cool LEGO sets I'd get if I had room for them.

My brother-in-law got us a Lego Advent-calendar Christmas-tree kit; that was really neat to work through.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

...I keep thinking about getting a LEGO Advent calendar some year, but it feels kind of...sacrilege-y. Or something. I don't know. I just suspect I'd make it like three days in and then go '...eff dat noize, bay bee' and tear into all the other days like a maniac.

If I buy the Advent calendar, it's because I want Ugly Sweater Palpatine now. Don't Chekhov's Gun me with Ugly Sweater Palpatine on the box and then make me wait until Christmas Eve, jerkface.

...I kind of want the Dark Falcon. It's so stupid and horrible that I want it. I don't know why. It's the worst thing, and I want it. For another forty bux I could get Eldorado Fortress, or the Sanderson Sisters' Cottage, or the Medieval Market. Those are all good sets. I'd happily work an extra couple hours for something good. Why do I want the worstest thing.

[EDIT: I don't even want the real Falcon! I got what I wanted out of LEGO Star Wars (a Y-Wing and an AT-ST, and five goofy video games), and I thought that was goodbye.

Man alive. You know, if Lego wants to bring back the Lego Indiana Jones line for real, everybody would buy an Indy vs the Panzer set. I realise the Panzer is a military unit, but hell-----------what do you call the plane in the 'Fighter Plane Chase' set, also based on 'Last Crusade'? It says it right on the package, man, it's a fighter plane, a gotdang ME-109. So quit wringing your hands and give us Indy vs the Panzer. If you're too fraidy cat to call it a Panzer, be coy-----------call the set 'Hat Whip Man and Horse Are Surprised By Unusual Tractor'.

I also want a Snoopy vs the Red Baron set, but...you know. One baby step at a time.
