Right now, I'm playing Satisfactory. Super hyped about the new 1.0 update. Everything is better and looks so good. Even our server hosting from SuperCraft is faster. Life's good, what can I say.

I am hoping to buy Pneumata today.
It looks horrifying, in a good way. A little generic maybe, but I was surprised to see it only have a 5/10 on Steam. I wonder if it's just a bad version.

Echoes of Wisdom is better than I expected. Just cleared the first dungeon and I'm really liking the systems in your toolkit to tackle the puzzles and fights.

As long as it's not a girlboss thing and Link isn't emasculated (neither of which seem to be the case) then I'm glad Zelda is finally playable outside of the CDi games. I actually want a Ganondorf one next.

Actually, the main Zelda I'm thinking of picking up for Switch is the new version of 'Skyward Sword'. Evidently if you play it with a classic controller (or like a handheld, with the joycons attached to the base unit), you can just play it regular, without motion controls. That's a big "yes please" to me.

^ That's what I thought about Mario Galaxy, then when I played it on Switch I literally couldn't make Mario do things originally intended for motion controls, like launching or whatever. I was basically softlocked by how badly they adapted the controls.

I'm not saying Skyward Sword will have that problem, I actually heard it's done well, but it just reminded me of that. I never saw Nintendo drop the ball harder on something like that.

Started it over the weekend. Really good so far. But I get confused quite a bit on what to do next.

^The first one? Man. I bet it's tough. Good old NES hard. You know, I still can't beat that old son-of-a-bitch 'Double Dragon'. I'm not tough enough for the streets, I guess.

Yeah, it's closing in on Halloween and this is basically the grandaddy of good Halloween-y games. I honestly think it aged badly but it's still cool to try getting as far as possible for a bit. Which isn't far, but still lol

Never tried the original Double Dragon, but I did play the Battletoads & Double Dragon on SNES, it was insanely brutal. Best one is Double Dragon Neon, it's much more manageable than everything that came before it, nephew kinda liked it too.

Like, I like to think I'm good at video games, but...you know, I bought a bunch of them dang-ass Technos games on XBox (they were like five bux each-----------that's a fair price for your sanity). I tried it on for old times' sake, and I died at the same damn place I always died as a kid. You get like a third of the way through the stage after the stage where you fight two Abobos at once on a conveyor belt, and you die. Inevitably thou diest. 'Double Dragon' is the conqueror worm.

I've never been that great at most games, really. The only ones I'm good at are Street Fighter and the older Smash Bros games, basically.

That's actually pretty good though, dying where you did as a kid, better than me going back to these old games and dying earlier than I did as a kid lol. Even Super Mario Bros 3, I used to be good enough to not just beat it but kinda do tricks, like jumping off several cannonballs in one motion. Now I can beat it but don't have that level of precision.

I never played much of the original Castlevania. I thought the second one was decent, though, but apparently everybody is supposed to hate it now. That was the last one I spent much time on.

I had only played Double Dragon a bit, but I was a big fan of River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball.

These NES games were all about patience, which I had when I was a kid. We didn't have much choice. You usually only had one new game, so make it count. That meant you keep playing and dying until you got past that one spot and died a little while later. The games weren't that long otherwise.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

I tried so dang hard! I did both the things in 'Double Dragon'! Like, you had to choose between punching to get XP and kicking to not die, and either way got you to that same damn spot----------death a third of the way through the fourth stage! Death, death, death!

The last Castlevania I played was one of the decent but forgettable PS2 versions. Circle of the Moon for GBA is probably the best one, it's got a reasonable difficulty, isn't repetitive, and is relatively short. Easiest way to describe it is a streamlined and polished version of Symphony of the Night.

I never really played Castlevania 2, but I do know most of the hate seems to stem from the infamously cryptic nature of progression at certain points. Not much of an issue with free online guides now.

Yeah, NES games are surprisingly short once the difficulty is taken out of the equation, which is probably why they're some of the most popular speedrunning games. Save states also often trivialize them to some degree since you're skipping the punishment of being forced to replay entire segments, levels, or even just from the beginning again.

That was my experience with TMNT on SNES, getting to that hallway with those weird little R2-D2 looking bastards always signalled the end of my run. I'm not bad at fighting games so I have no idea why beat 'em ups chew me up and spit me out, they're not too dissimilar.

Castlevania is just impossible. Figured I'd stick with NES though and I'm giving Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti another try (I think I played it a couple years ago). It didn't click with me before for some reason, and now I remember why. The little dude is slippery as hell, like he's always on an ice stage.

It has great presentation for an NES game at least, nice little cutscene at the beginning and all. Kinda funny too, first boss is a Michael Jackson Thriller parody kinda thing.
