I don't. At all. I really don't like it.

I like cribbage.

I used to play a lot in middle and high school. Learned the game from my step dad. I got pretty decent at it. He won all the games until our first stalemate. I won all the ones after.

I would play a lot of social studies teachers in middle and high school. I used to play my 7th grade Texas History teacher a lot. We would stalemate every game, but I beat him in back-to-back games the last day of school. The next year he evened the score with two wins of his own.

These days I mostly play daily puzzles on chess.com.

I like that it's a complex game without any randomness to it. You earn all your wins and losses. I'm not a big fan of timed games, or the fact that at the higher levels, so much of the game is memorization. I never got great at reading chess notation.

I've played casually with friends and my sister, plus online a few times. I usually win but I don't think that's because I'm any good, more because the people I played were simply even worse. I'm not a real fan of it, but it's something to do.

You know, maybe if I had a rival, or if there were an objective, I would motivate myself to get good at chess. As it stands, I will never give a crap.

I don't need to beat Death at chess---------I want to beat my horrible satan-worshipping cousins and uncles at cribbage and Boggle! That's my battlefield, and they are my dread Adversaries! Every Christmas. Ugh.

Not sure. Maybe you object that she listed dog bites and bee stings but not the game of chess as that which makes her sad.

Mean Nazi dogs must earn double fighting credit. At least I think they used dogs, the bulk of my WWII knowledge is Call of Duty: World at War.

...I mean, they probably used them lots more in guarding prison camps and concentration camps than in war. I don't think there's a gamer alive who didn't gun down his fair share of German shepherds in 'Wolfenstein 3D'.

Impossible! When you get a 7 kill streak you can spawn dogs in war, there's no way Activision would lie to me.

...I suppose it scans that the only way we can praise Activision is by indirect comparison to Nazi murder-dogs.
