Re: Current game?
Playing various app games when I need down-time for my 2 brain cells.
Still playing Plants vs Zombies 2, Minecraft, Animal Crossing: New Leaf when I can find time.

I got way into 'Vampire Survivors' this weekend. It's pretty wild.

I'm nearing the end of Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth. It's not as good as Mask of Deception, but it's still good. I'm not sure how I'll rank the trilogy by the end.

Re: Current game?
So I'm replaying 'Goldeneye' for the first time in decades. It plays alright (as with the 'Perfect Dark' HD remaster they released to XBLA, they updated the controls to twin-stick). Some things are a little clunky compared to modern games, and the levels are a little sprawling (I spent more time than I care to admit wandering around Severnaya 1), but it's still fun. Probably won't play it with the kids, but heck, it's not like I'm short on games to play with them.
...good soundtrack, man. (EDIT: Awesome soundtrack. Kirkhope, Norgate and Beanland worked together on it, and they came up with so many sweet riffs on the standard James Bond theme. And even so, the music evokes the movie---‐-------all those hollow sounds and metallic noises. They really knocked it out the park, man.)

I'm Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan. It's simple and fun, a neat little side scrolling platformer/beat 'em up kinda thing. I like it, but it is a bit too simple, and the characters are virtually identical down to their weapons.

Re: Current game?
I checked out 'Atomic Heart', because it's free on Game Pass.
It's kind of like 'Bioshock', if 'Bioshock' sucked and was written by a twelve-year-old who'd just discovered swearing.
...you know, I'm perversely delighted that 'Vampire Survivors' is so much fun. 'Atomic Heart' cost like four thousand times as much capital, time and effort to create, and it stinks on ice compared to stupid-ass 'Vampire Survivors', the five-dollar game that I frequently play on my dippy four-year-old phone on the bus (when I'm not browsing VGF or 1900HotDog or Ecchi Attack, of course). 'Vampire Survivors' and my dumb little Zelda Game and Watch make these huge full-of-themselves productions look dead on arrival. It's the archer's two-fingered salute of the gaming industry.
I can hardly wait to download 'Redfall' and delete it after playing it for less time than it took to download.

Re: Current game?
I'm playing Sonic 1, the Master System version. It's really colorful and has nice music (by Yuzo Koshiro, I think--the Streets of Rage guy).
I originally assumed you made those site names up for some reason, but apparently they're real. Pretty funny too lol.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 11:07 amI checked out 'Atomic Heart', because it's free on Game Pass.

Re: Current game?
So I played 'RavenLok' this weekend. It was really pretty and nice. Just well-crafted in general. It's a bit like Zelda------------like, sort of Zelda times 'Alice in Wonderland' or 'Coraline'. I liked it lots. Not overly long, but so what. Good kids' game.

^ I remember a lot of you guys used to play that.
I'm playing Sonic Advance 2. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still pretty good.

Re: Current game?
I started FFXVI and then I remembered Baldur's Gate 3 was going to be out for PS5 a month later. Put that down for the Horizon Forbidden West DLC, as I thought that would be more manageable in the timeframe before BG3 hit, but then I just kinda didn't play any video games for a month. But today is BG3 day.

Think I'm gettin back into 'Shredder's Revenge' this weekend. They just came out with new DLC that, on top of adding a few more levels, also brings in Usagi Yojimbo as a playable character----------heck yeah.

Re: Current game?
...so I started 'Lapin'. It's a 2D platformer reminiscent of 'Celeste', but instead of a girl climbing a mountain, it's a bunch of rabbits escaping the destruction of their warrens by humans. Kind of a 'Watership Down' thing, with less murder.

Re: Current game?
I started playing Cookie Clicker about a year ago after it came out on Steam again. It was interesting to play it again after all those years. Now it's just running in the background making hardly any progress, but I'm slowly building achievements. I don't expect to get all of them but am coming close. Future focus seems to be on mini games, which never seemed compelling to me for this game, but a lot of people will be happy to have the new content.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Re: Current game?
I recently picked up Judgement again on the PS4... been meaning to finish it, since my boyfriend gave me his copy last year when we met :P
Forgot how much I love Yakuza (or Like a Dragon)/Judgement games. I always liked the combat and the amount of side content you can do, and the story in the series has (usually) been very good. I also like how Judgement gives a different perspective of Kamurocho, since you're playing as a freelance detective instead of a former Yakuza member.

I'm trying to re-earn the "beat it in one sitting with five deaths or fewer, hotshot" achievement in 'Limbo'. It's all hard and hard-like.
