I remember trying it on someone's recommendation here, but the first one I tried was the original which I didn't like much. I'm glad I tried some others though, it really is a great series.

Yeah, that GBC one is hard to get into. I tried playing it on the train one time, and I just hit a brick wall about five minutes in. Didn't have a smartphone in those days, so that was kind of all she wrote.

Flashback is free on GOG for 3 days. I remember this from the SNES. Thought it was decent. Can't imagine it holds up as any more than nostalgia. They're working on a sequel, though, so I guess they are trying to promote that.

The difficulty and trial-and-error nature of Flashback ruins it for me, but it's otherwise pretty cool.
