'Castle of Cagliostro' is rad. Anyone who calls that one of Miyazaki's lesser flicks can pound sand.

Re: Foreign-Language Movies on Netflix
I've watched the occasional foreign film but not many. I watched a lot of movies in English with Spanish subtitles. That is a good method of learning a foreign language, although the translations can be questionable, but they are more or less reasonable. The only thing I regularly watch with subtitles is The Mole (Netherlands and Belgium). I'd rather not have to read while trying to watch something, but it's fine. Although every time I play a game, I set English subtitles to on if that's an option.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

In the rare instance I'm watching a German-language flick, I occasionally turn the subtitles off, just to see how my seven years of German are holding up ('not great' is the usual verdict).

Re: Foreign-Language Movies on Netflix
Pan's Labyrinth is the only one that comes to mind. It's very good. I've certainly watched several others but I don't know what, aside from anime movies that are unavailable in English.
I do that too. I actually tend to do it with movies as well, in case there's difficult to hear dialogue, like whispering.Shane wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:21 pmI've watched the occasional foreign film but not many. Re: Foreign-Language Movies on Netflix
I do some foreign-language stuff. Sometimes dubbed (some Miyazaki movies, all of Jackie Chan's Hong Kong films, et cet), sometimes subbed (anime series, Pan's Labyrinth, et cet).
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
