Have you watched Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Which is your favourite classical element?
Who are your favourite characters?
If you could be a bender, which one would you like to be? What would you do with this power?
What are your favourite episodes?
A century ago, the young Avatar Aang, afraid of his new responsibilities, fled from his home and was forced into the ocean by a storm. He encased himself in suspended animation in an iceberg near the South Pole. Shortly after, Fire Lord Sozin, the ruler of the Fire Nation, launched a world war to expand his nation's empire. Knowing that the Avatar must be an Air Nomad, he carried out a genocide against the Air Nomads with the help of a comet enhancing firebenders' power. One hundred years later, Katara and Sokka, teenagers of the Southern Water Tribe, accidentally discover Aang and revive him.

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' is one of my favourite shows ever. I stumbled into a conversation about it up at scout camp way back in the day, and just from hearing the discussion, I knew I wanted to check it out.

I really like all the characters, but Toph has always been the favourite. She's such a firecracker, man. (I've seen that she shows up in 'Legend of Korra', and from the clips I've seen on Youtube, she never changes, just gets old and looney and Yoda-esque. Good for her.) I also super like Uncle Iroh, because like who the heck doesn't. And Sokka is really underrated. He can't do bending, but he still tries to keep his hand in to help his friends----------it's admirable as heck. That has to be so, so dang scary--‐------all around you it's X-Men vs Jedi, and all you've got is a boomerang and sarcasm. Sokka the champ.

Favourite episodes...man, "Tales of Ba Sing Se" is hard to beat.

...I need to rewatch that whole dang show. I keep getting clips in my recommendations at YouTube, and I'm constantly like, 'holy flip, I forgot that happened! ...wait, I forgot that happened?!? ... ...what have I been doing with my time?'

The only glimmer of interest I had in it was when I heard that M. Night Shyamalan was directing the film, but figured it wouldn't have one of his cool twists so didn't watch it.

I don't know which powers there are to choose from but I'm not picky, I'd take just about anything. I'm sure there's fire, can't go wrong with that.

^Oh, it had one of his signature twists, all right: He took one of the best television programs ever made & somehow made it suck.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^That movie was baffling to me. I mean, never even minding the obvious (aka 'we shouldn't do this' and 'you can't take an entire TV season's worth of story and cram it into ninety minutes')...it felt like they were changing things just to change them sometimes. Like why change how the characters' names were pronounced? Why take terrific character designs like Zuko and Iroh and turn them into these bland nothing nobodies? Why change firebending on a fundamental level?

I don't get it. Why make an Avatar movie that Avatar fans will be perplexed by?

The firebending change reflected how little he understood the material. Firebenders' ability to generate their element is the only advantage they have over water/earthbenders, the only reason Sozin's campaign was even possible in the first place.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I guess that is technically a twist lmao

Sounds a lot like the situation with Dragon Ball's live action movie, Dragonball Evolution. But at least they got the title for Avatar: The Last Airbender right, I have no idea how you can screw up the title of the property you're adapting.
