... or understand why it's popular?
Did you watch it all the way through?
What's a popular movie that you just don't like...

I find the LotR Extended Editions intolerable.

Too long, or you just don't like what it is they add? I like them.

Far too long. And you know, the vanilla versions of the movies, they plod a little to start with----------adding in an extra half-hour of throwaway stuff, stuff that was correctly left out from the beginning, turns them into an exercise in willpower.
[EDIT: You know, I'm actively annoyed at this crap. 'Return of the King' was already excruciatingly long, and then they added a real whole lot of fluff on, and I still have to fill people in!
I hung out with a friend last month, and we got to talking about LotR, and he expressed a little disappointment that the Shire was unaffected by the War of the Ring. And, I mean, I'm not one of those crappy 'ahahaha i readed the book and you didn't! you scum' snobs, but I started talking about the Scouring, and, well, it became clear that friend had never read the books. I don't look down on him for that--------I look down on the filmmakers, who, even after adding nearly an hour to the runtime, still left people unsatisfied! And it is unsatisfying! It's a key and obvious theme of the movies that you can't ever really go home again, and then the third movie ends with the hobbits just going home again! Sans Scouring! Scouring-free! No Scouring. What in the crap is that effing bullcrap. That's some real next-level breaking of your own biz, man. Ugh.
This they call Best Picture. Pffft.
I'm not the bad guy, here!
[EDIT2:...oh, man. Oh, mama. I'm going to live long enough to see someone else make LotR movies, aren't I. Sooner or later. I mean, it doesn't sound possible, but ten years ago, I would have laughed at the idea of two new Ghostbusters flicks and five more Star Warses. I would have laughed myself past tears into nausea if you tried to tell me there'd be a Matrix 4. Even I never thought such evil could exist.
Sometimes I envy the dead.

Hm, personally I don't mind it. The more the merrier, I say. Though in a theater it'd be more of an issue, I think.

Twilight. Couldn't stand it.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
