Hmm.... hard to say but I feel pretty comfortable with this list.

1. Blade Runner 2049
2. Back to the Future
3. The Matrix
4. The Terminator
5. Terminator 2
6. Alien
7. Aliens
8. Planet of the Apes
9. Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Khan
10. E.T.

I don't really think of Star Wars as sci fi which is why I've left it off the list.

Star Wars 4, 5, 6, 7, & Rogue One. (Maybe 3 or 8 if the person is of a good temperament.)
Star Trek 1, 2, Generations, & 2009. (I haven't seen the newer sequels.)
Matrix 1 & Animatrix.
Terminator 1 & 2.
ET.
Planet of the Apes (original).
Back to the Future 1, 2, & 3.
Jurassic Park & Jurassic World.
Gravity.
Interstellar.
The Martian.
Galaxy Quest.
The Fifth Element.
Le Voyage dans la Lune.
Pacific Rim.
Independence Day.

10) Alien VS Predator

Jurassic Park is sort of sci/fi but I didn't count it, otherwise it bumps off AvP.

^Lot of people put SW closer to fantasy than to sci-fi.
