Chadwick Boseman dead at 43

He passed away after a four year battle with colon cancer.

Chadwick Boseman, star of “Black Panther,” died on Friday after a four year battle with colon cancer, his rep confirmed to Variety. He was 43.

Before he was cast as the Marvel Studios superhero, Boseman’s career first exploded with his portrayals of Black American icons Jackie Robinson (in 2013’s “42”) and James Brown (in 2014’s “Get on Up”).

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” said a statement posted to his Twitter feed. “It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Damn. Cancer can get you even if you're young, fit, and your career is about to be what ever you want it to be. Tragic.

He was diagnosed in 2016 with stage 3 cancer, which means he was already sick a year or so before that; he was dealing with this through about 2/3 of his film career.

Heard about this late last night and stared at the headline for a good minute trying to process it. Damn, man. The guy did every Marvel movie he was in while going through this. He truly was a superhero.

wow really just impressed with the mans ability to shine on camera and have a hold on his emotions knowing what was going on. that's crazy. must have felt so difficult to finally make it and have that happen.
