Popular movies/shows you've never seen.

What well-known or critically acclaimed movies or shows have you either never gotten around to seeing, or just aren't interested in?

It'd be faster to list the movies or shows I HAVE seen.

Mom wouldn't let us watch 'The Simpsons' when we were kids, so I never really cared much about it.

I've seen it on occasion as an adult. It's funny, I guess, but not so mind-blowingly hilarious that I feel I'm missing anything.

^Simpsons was a blind spot for me for a long time since there really weren't any channels airing reruns of it like with Futurama or Family Guy. Fortunately a few years ago I watched the first 10 seasons online since I could get it for free from my parents cable plan, and now I feel like I'm finally caught up on something I missed out on.

In terms of other popular movies or shows I haven't seen, I'll just say I've never had access to a streaming service so I've definitely not seen anything that was a Netflix fad at any point.

Pretty much all of them, tbh. Star Wars is one of the only big ones.

Never saw Scarface.

Raging Bull

Rocky

My mom also was wary of me watching The Simpsons. I instead grew up watching Seinfeld and David Letterman ahaha.

I never saw Friends and I'm not very interested in watching it.

Haven't seen Buffy.

^You should check out 'Living Daylights', if you've got it. My favourite Bond flick------Timothy Dalton is super great.

If you don't have it, hey, whatevs. We've all got blind spots in. Heck, Akira Kurosawa is supposedly one of my favourite directors, and I've never seen all of 'The Seven Samurai' in one sitting. I've seen all of it, and I like it a lot, only I've never seen it all at oncet.

I've tried.

It's long, and I'm really stupid. I want a quick-snap fast-paced 'Yojimbo', or a crazily-intricate 'Rashomon'-----------'Seven Samurai' is good, but sometimes it drags, and at the one-hour mark, you check the run-time, and you go 'oh...oh no', and suddenly an afternoon of sh*tty cartoons sounds like all the fun in the world.

I'm not proud.

there are a ton of praised films i've never seen. i've never seen gone with the wind and i've only seen about half of casablanca. despite my love of both paul thomas anderson and the coen brothers i still haven't seen there will be blood or no country for old men. i've probably seen most highly praised films of the past decade or so but i've seen significantly less stuff from before i was in high school.

as for popular shows, i still haven't gotten to watching the shield. never watched a lot of the older hbo dramas like deadwood and rome either. i saw a season of mad men but i thought it was boring as hell. might give it another shot someday.

I've got 'License to Kill' but no 'Living Daylights.' I like Dalton, though. He was amazing in 'Hot Fuzz' and it was fun when he showed up as Rassilon in 'Doctor Who.'

^Yeah, he's never been huge, but I loved him as Bond, and he was great in 'Lion in Winter'. Ooh, have you seen 'Rocketeer'? That's a great flick. Dalton's in that one, too.

'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Octopussy' are Roger Moore's best Bonds, for my money.

^^Say friend, have you watched 'Die Another Day'?

'Die Another Day' is Brosnan's worst Bond movie, but it has one of his best scenes. He and the bad guy have a terrific swordfight.

Like, don't skip the movie just cuz it mostly stinks. Skip 'Live and Let Die' instead, that one entirely stinks. Ahahaa. (Maybe listen to the theme-song. The theme-song is great. Like so what if the movie bites---------we're talking Wings-era Paul at his best, here.)

I've seen all of the Brosnan movies, I think. Goldeneye many times.

I've actually seen Paul McCartney perform that song live. He had a concert at Minute Maid Park and my sister knew a stage hand that got us free tickets right near the stage in center field. 'Live and Let Die' may have been his closer, but I can't recall for sure. I know they did big pyrotechnic stuff for it.

The vast majority of Bond films. In fact, I think I've only seen 2: Dr. No & Goldeneye.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^^Man, that's awesome. Sometimes it's good to know a guy.

My best 'I know a guy' story is I got free tickets to Flogging Molly at the Rave. Second best is I got free tickets to Billy Ray Cyrus and the Oak Ridge Boys at the State Fair. (Yeah, so what if I've never seen a Beatle. I got to rock out to 'Achy Breaky Heart' and 'Elvira', live. You jealous yet?)

(EDIT: Hang on, Marty Stuart also was there. He did 'Tempted', live, and it was rad. That actually is cool, a cool thing I got to experience. Like, 'Achy Breaky Heart' is crap, and 'Elvira' is silly, but 'Tempted' has always been awesome. I saw it, man. I was in my crappy jean jacket and all.

I love Flogging Molly. They're the one band I knew I wanted before I knew they existed. One day I was listening to some traditional Irish music and was just thinking that something like Flogging Molly ought to exist. Decided to look into whether it did and found them.

My sister dug up the set list of that Paul McCartney concert. 'Live and Let Die' was just before 'Hey Jude,' which was the last song before he took a break and then came back for two encores. Dude was 70 years old and played 37 songs that night.
