I'd certainly rather watch Schumacher's Batman flicks than 'Batman Returns'. 'Batman Returns' is thoroughly revolting.

I liked Batman Returns, even though it kinda scared me as a wee lad.

I've never watched even one of his movies or shows. That's impressive. Maybe I saw batman when I was a kid but I couldn't tell you anything about who is in them or what they're about. The only thing I remember is Arnold Schwarzenegger dressed like an Ice Robot with no context.

honestly say what you want about them but those movies are more "interesting" than a lot of superhero movies are

If I said I'd rather watch one of his Batmans than the Dark Knight Trilogy, I'd be a dirty lying scumbag.
If I said I'd rather watch one of his Batmans than Thor: Dark World, I'd only be slightly fibbing.
If I said I'd rather watch one of his Batmans than Justice League, I'd pass a polygraph with flying colors.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I didn't know he did Phone Booth, that's actually really good.

We had HBO for the first year when we first got Dish, and Phone Booth was a very popular film between my brother and I.

Schumacher's got a reputation as a hack but that's mostly from the Batman movies and Phantom of the Opera (which unlike the Batman movies, is not interesting at all). He had a string of movies that are either cult classics or generally pretty well-reviewed in the 80s and early 90s. He was essentially a "hired gun" filmmaker but he did a solid job at most non-Batman things until the 2000s. And even then, Blood Creek seems like an extremely raw movie.

That's another great one, the tone is a little inconsistent but it's very good.

I had no idea he was that old already, but it is 2020 after all. R.I.P. Some of his movies could be tonally off, but he definitely had his own vision.

Batman Forever and Batman & Robin are entertaining if you don't take them seriously. They're really just kids' advertisements and like . . . there's nothing really wrong with that per se? It was like the modern version of watching Adam West Batman. When I was 7 years old watching that though, I remember having the hots for Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy. I'd rewatch the s**t out of that movie. And Alicia Silverstone? Whooo. I'm sure that movie made a lot of kids my age at the time suddenly realize puberty.

I was more mesmerized by Batman's nipples.

No joke, it took me years to actually realize only the Schumacher films put nipples on the suits. I was maybe in like freshman year of college when I finally realized after people joked about them, and I was like "Oh yeah. . ."

I'm pretty sure Batman & Robin made me an assman when Batgirl suited up.
