I know that you can, and I trust that you can, and I am thankful for you and I respect you, and I may even take you up on this, but I also just want the aesthetic of carrying around a giant **** ass camcorder. Recording in authentic 480i is just a bonus.

I need to buy the 3.5mm trrs to rca adapter cable so i can actually capture the footage on my computer after (using my capture card i got for video games lololol), and will probably have to buy scalped mini replacement casettes as well, but WHO CARES

I have spent more time today than I strictly should have reading this thing's manual. It can take digital photos and store it on its crappy old memory card, or it can record video on its magnetic tape cassette using the incredibly obsolete DV NTSC standard format. Which comes out to 480 scanlines and 30 interlaced frames per second, which is exactly the same as ToS so I already know exactly how to capture that **** digitally after I record. And since the photos are saved on a memory card and this thing supports digital output to a computer (using ancient proprietary software for Windows XP, but... I am sure I can figure something out), if I use this as a camera that shouldn't be an issue either. Worst case scenario it lets you save the snapshots to the magnetic tape and I can play those back over the analog output.

It actually has a lot of pretty dang cool features and I am pretty excited to **** around with it. The best news is that I am totally taking this to Aselia con with me next month and I am going to meme with it all weekend.
