Lower score than expected, honestly. Thought it'd reach mid-70's.

Apparently there's a really weird and very mildly interesting Twitter war between fans of this movie and Birds of Prey's. So that's a thing.

Consensus I've seen is "it's ai'ght."

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Spoiler.
I cannot f***ing believe that there is a scene where robotnik constructs sonic's footprint, and also there is a scene where they take off sonic's shoes and show his dirty socks, i think a character even says "aw look at his feet"

i can't stop thinking about it. they knew this movie was gonna work for kids but they knew the audience they REALLY had to please was the perverts

The film's projected four-day gross of $68 million is among the best showings ever for the long Presidents Day weekend, which coincided this year with Valentine's Day.

Until now, 2019's Pokemon Detective Pikachu boasted the top North American opening for a video game adaptation with a three-day start of $54.3 million, not adjusted for inflation.

Sega beat Nintendo, nice. The console wars live on in film.

Pokemon is still the highest grossing media franchise in the world, though.

Spoiler.
Tails makes a mid-credits scene appearance. An echidna tribe appears early in the movie but no Knuckles.

^^
Spoiler.
My friends and I were kind of memeing but kind of legit talking about how the end credit scene sets the movie up for a "Sonic 2" featuring Sonic & Tails, and then the third movie "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" would bring in the chaos emeralds.

We were joking but the way the movie ended honestly makes me think it's a legit possibility lmfao.
my sister got a sonic movie cup at her theater. i didnt and now im mad. im gonna see it again and ask for a cup
