It's pretty bad for critic score but user score looks suspiciously high in comparison.
There is a trope for this.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ ... Dissonance

You hear about how Michael Bay movies are so horrible yet they somehow manage to make millions every year. Likewise people everywhere on social media are saying they're tired of Superhero movies, yet they make billions every year.

They must be doing something right... perhaps opinions of critics and audiences don't always line up, since critics usually want to see something different?

Spoiler.
I just think it's funny that the kiss was done so badly that not even reylo fans were happy about it
Spoiler.
I just love the middle finger to the shippers: "Here, they finally kissed, ok? AND NOW HE'S DEAD. HA."
The dumbest part:
Spoiler.
The ancient Sith dagger (a) being designed to fit the exact jagged outline of the wreckage of the second Death Star, which wasn't even conceived yet, & (b) being inscribed to predict exactly where the wreckage would land & what position it would face.

The silliest part:
Spoiler.
Rey is the Jedi Avatar.

All things considered, I actually enjoyed the movie a lot, though.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Spoiler.
I don't think the shippers are mad that he died so much as they're mad that the kiss even considering any romantic tension between them still just kind of came out of nowhere and didn't feel earned at all

Spoiler.
I decided to bail on Star Wars after being bored by the first in this return trilogy, so all this is coming to me from a distance. I am enjoying someone figuring out a shot in the last scene in this latest movie was literally cropped and reused footage from a scene in Movie 1

^Rogue One & Mandalorian are both really good. The whole sequel trilogy has merit, but isn't as good.

so ok based on the comic, is it AT ALL possible that Anakin is Rey's father? Keep in mind that I don't follow the Star War very closely so I don't know timelines and junk. But... if he is that makes it hilariously apropos that she adopts the last name Skywalker.

^The short answer is no. The long answer is:
Spoiler.
No. Even if Rey was conceived before Vader's death, he would almost certainly be incapable of biological reproduction by then--she's probably less than half Luke & Leia's age--& his self-hatred & dependence on Palpatine would've stopped him from pulling a midichlorian conception on some random woman.

I just read all the spoilers. Now I'm really not interested.

...I think I should go watch more 'Doctor Who', or maybe go read a book. There's lots. I haven't read 'Moby-Dick' since scout camp, man.

Pffft. Good luck trying to get in here and destroy my copy of 'Norstrilia'. I will paint-can you like Kevin McCallister, and feel not a moment's sorrow.

Doctor Who seems super pretentious, is that a correct observation?

Dr. Who is goofy and heartfelt, which is like the opposite of pretentious

Doctor Who is fun and silly. It's so wild and imaginative-------------like a Cordwainer Smith fever-dream.

I mean the old show, here. I literally haven't watched anything more recent than Paul McGann--------I liked him a lot, I wish he'd got more than one single middling chance. Jon Pertwee is the favourite, though. He was so tough and cool.

^Since Eight's life was so open-ended on screen, they did tons of radio plays with him. And they did a cool short with him to tie in with the 50th Anniversary episode.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I think it's possible IRHP may be thinking of the fact that Steven Moffat headed one particular (and super popular on tumblr in 2012 until everyone retroactively realized it actually was kind of bad) season of Doctor Who, and this is the guy who wrote Sherlock, which is ABSOLUTELY a **** pretentious show. Doctor Who, on the other hand, is whimsical and fun and silly but has moments that are heartwarming and really good, as well as some that are quite terrible but often still largely enjoyable and have merit; and Moffat has nothing to do with the vast majority of it.
