'Conan the Barbarian' is great. It isn't as far from the source material as a lot of people make out. Like, the part where he's out exploring the world with Subotai is pretty apt. And them robbing the Tower of Set with Valeria...that's a slightly adapted version of one of Howard's original Conan stories. "Tower of the Elephant", if I'm not very much mistaken?

A King Conan movie would be effing hype. Show him wearing the crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. Show him in his twilight. Kind of a reflection of Osric, or Thulsa Doom.

Mako's dead. We need a ringer to narrate. Get that guy who took over for Mako as Iroh in 'Avatar'. He's got the chops.

...'Conan the Barbarian', 'Hatari!' and 'The Last Unicorn' are the last big ones on my "do whatever it takes to see em on the big screen' list. I've zeed the rest of 'em. (Milwaukee's good for that------------lots of Friday Night Freakshows and Saturday afternoon matinees of random flicks, not to mention weird TCM events.) I mean, it'd be nice to see 'Fifth Element' or 'Hudson Hawk', the old cartoon 'The Hobbit' in-theatre, but I'm not hangry for 'em the way I am for Conan, Hatari and Unicorn, here.
boo--------------a real american weirdo

PG-13 - Pure Genius (13-bit console)
