Who will win the streaming wars?
Disney+ launched this month, and soon, HBO Max will enter the streaming race.
Between Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max, who will win the streaming wars?

Re: Who will win the streaming wars?
Netflix isn't going anywhere unless they make some ironic Blockbuster level mistakes. They're all going to co-exist but if I had to guess which will drop first I'd say Disney+.

My guess for HBO Max is that the vast majority of their subscribers will be people who already had HBO in the first place.

Eventually, people will come up with streaming packages that bundle them all together to varying degrees and varying combinations. I should make a movie about it starring Matthew Broderick and Jim Carrey. I’ll call it “The Streaming Guy.”

^So, the a-la-carte cable system that everybody has begged for since the 90s?

The topic didn't specify film, though that's clearly what the topic is about, but I do wonder when or if Nintendo will have a proper service to compete with Sony & Microsoft. Maybe the Switch's successor?

Nothing came out of it, but "GamePass on Switch" WAS one of the prominent rumors coming into E3 this year.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:17 pmThe topic didn't specify film, though that's clearly what the topic is about, but I do wonder when or if Nintendo will have a proper service to compete with Sony & Microsoft. Re: Who will win the streaming wars?
I cannot possibly see Nintendo being that savvy. Either they won't do it at all, or they'll attempt to do it with a "Nintendo-like Solution" that makes it unusable.

Re: Who will win the streaming wars?
One could technically argue something for the "animation" bit fitting, especially for certain genres--FMV games certainly blur the line, haha.CaptHayfever wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 10:03 pmI mean, it is in the movies forum.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:17 pmThe topic didn't specify film, though that's clearly what the topic is about,

Re: Who will win the streaming wars?
^ HBO GO is what you get through your standard cable subscription to HBO. HBO NOW is the a la carte streaming service that you don't need a cable subscription for. They're essentially the same otherwise.
