Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
here's my big ol anime list: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/sa_my ... der=4&tag=
for brevity my favorite animes (not necessarily the highest rated on the list and not in any particular order) are:
Sound! Euphonium
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Nichijou
Outlaw Star
.hack//SIGN
the last two I would only rate a 4/5 but they hold heavy nostalgia value

Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
One Piece is too wacky too often for my liking. Yeah, Dragon Ball (especially early on) is pretty wacky too, but I draw the line at this:

No problem, when I read the headline I was like, "wow I really haven't been up to speed this year."

I dropped Grancrest after four or five episodes, but it wasn't bad. It has a mobile game out in English iirc.

Just started watching Black Clover. Really enjoying it so far. It's very similar to Naruto in a few respects.

I absolutely love Black Clover. A lot of people hate on it for being a very stereotypical shonen anime, but I always have a good time watching it.

Stereotypical shonen anime is the only thing that ever makes ten year runs so why hate? haha definitely always a good time.

Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
I binged all of Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan and it’s **** great. Going back and reading the manga for stuff that wasn’t adapted and the ACTUAL ENDING; it’s interestinf how differently a lot of the humor is delivered. Both are fantastic.
Saiki and Mob Psycho 100 are good examples of series where it’s definitely worth it to consume both manga and anime because there are a decent amount of changes, some great improvements but other things unfortunately left out.

Onto Hunter X Hunter now.
Definitely bummed that when I'm done with it.
I hear Togashi is going to finish the series though. Does anyone know anything more on that?

tfw you want to start Hi Score Girl while it's slow at work but your roommate is asleep and won't answer your texts asking for his Netflix password.

Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
Regarding stuff I like/have liked, it kind of sounds like a chore to fill out a complete list, but I'll throw something together here for Anime series & film
Serial Experiments: lain
Boogie Pop Phantom
My Neighbor Totoro
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Ghost in the Shell (films 1&2, Stand Alone Complex series)
Akira
Steamboy
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Dragon Ball Z
FLCL
Darker than Black
Attack on Titan
One Punch Man
Mu Shi Shi
Vampire Hunter D
I'll call that a wrap for now. Probably missing something, but there you go.
I don't have a ton of favorites in terms of characters, stuff like that, but I definitely like Mugen from Samurai Champloo, Ed from Cowboy Bebop, lain, and Saitama from One Punch Man in particular. Also, Batou from GitS.

Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
i watched the first ep and some of the second and it's ass. don't bother. really disappointing too cuz like they go into cool stuff like Final Fight scoring strats that lets you know the writer really loves arcade games, but the whole rest of the show is just repulsive to look at.

Re: Weeaboos Anonymous
AI you just reminded me I’ve been meaning to watch Serial Experiments Lain, it looks like exactly my aesthetic. So much good **** in the early 2000’s era tbh
