Thanous's building caught fire today...

#1

Post by Thanous » Tue Apr 15, 2014 10:58 am

6 am this morning there is a really loud banging on the door.

5 people yelling

I hear the sirens of the fire engines for about 2 seconds since we live right next to the fire department
(still took them 12 minutes to get here)

I go outside to see my neighbors apartment is on fire

-3 degrees out

had to run outside only wearing my pajamas, no socks, no jacket, freezing

fire fighters tell us we have to move the car

we move it and stay in it because it has heat

I contemplate my story telling skills

so then my neighbor tells us how it happened, she lit a match and it sparked and caught the canopy thing on her bed on fire

so about an hour later our neighbor wakes (the one who doesn't live in the same building)

I finally get to use the bathroom and brush my teeth

they get the fire out and they have taken all the messed up stuff out of the window and it's all on the lawn, and they also had to cut down the bush in front of the house to get to the window

they finally let us go back into the downstairs of our house, so I get a jacket finally

still have to wait more than an hour to be able to finally stay in our house

and then the fire department left, my neighbors apartment is all messed up, it luckily didn't reach our place

and the lawn is full of trash and it was a big bush and that was everywhere sooo yeah & the trash man didn't take it sooo

so yeah hectic morning

Whoa, that must have been really scary! I'm glad to hear you're okay at least, buddy.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. A member of my student organization had that happen to them on the 7th. He and his best friend lost everything. Glad you made it out with all of your stuff at least. <3

Lucky it didn't end up worse, bud. Sounds like you'll have a story to tell for the years to come.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

YIKES! That's a horrible thing to wake up to. Worse than someone just pulling the fire alarm and leaving it to ring for TWO GODDAMN HOURS because the alarms aren't actually connected to the fire department,
looking up into pure sunlight

Holy crikey, dude! I'm glad you came out of it alright, but that's awful for those who lost things.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I'm glad you and your family and stuff are alright Thany, I couldn't imagine how scary that would be.

Being stranded outside in the cold with no protection is awful. I'm sorry dude.

Thankfully you're ok, and your belongings weren't damaged. It really sucks for your neighbors who did lose things but at least they are ok themselves too.
I believe in second chances, and that's why I believe in you.
