Don't you need calculus to do loans and investments?

Nope. :) Quite a large percentage of business math is 9th-grade algebra or lower; the tricky part is just how it's applied.

That's what look-up tables and Excel are for.

I'm kind of iffy with math. When it comes to simple equations: 2x + 2x= 4x, it's simple. But when it comes to the hard and pointless stuff that unless you're an astronomer you won't need to know: (2x(y) + -2x1y) - y(16xy -11xx +12xx), that's where I fall apart.

Nah. Those formulas are actually pretty simple, they just require some thought and setting up, which (as many have said), excel can do for you.

If you have 10 apples and I take 5, how many apples are left?

Those are both simple, Alg 1 level expressions. ;)

In reality, I was just typing in random numbers. (chances are I could goof up with that though)

^The 2nd one simplifies down to just -16xy²-x²y.
