Not sure what college I want to go to.

Discussion should include supportive responses.

Just as a forewarning, and hopefully to clear up a common misconception, even if you get a job that you think is pretty sweet it will still be work. There's just about never going to be a perfect choice, but higher education can help you gain a range of experience (as can life in any circumstance) that helps you determine who you are and more importantly who you don't want to be. If there's something more fulfilling you might aspire to, but are afraid of failure, you've got a lot of time in your life to work it out provided you're putting out some effort.

People don't do great things without stepping out of their comfort zone, as well. We've all heard that before, but sometimes that just means you should jump in and try something - that even means calling up a counselor and asking about a shadowing program or something similar. I know I absolutely hate talking to strangers on the phone, as many times as I've done it for work or simply for needs, but that's a good example. I wouldn't be in Australia if I couldn't manage it, and that's something special to me all on its own.

Try not to make life a race, either. There's no real reward for life beside the positive experiences you gain and the wisdom you earn. Like it or not, it all ends eventually and that can either freak you out or help you resolve to appreciate what you can.

And if anyone ever told you that you should know something (particularily about life) already that you didn't know, and made you feel guilty for it, they're dead wrong. You only learn things when you can, and you're not in control of that most of the time. Mistakes are normal and they mean you're living.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but maybe my mom is kind of smothering me by not letting me go to campus and only letting me take two courses at a time.

Kind of, yes.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

But I can't drive, though I DO plan to get my permit this summer.

Yes, that is the definition of smothering.

What do I do?

Are you saying she's a bad mother, and that she's probably smothered me all my life, therefore I'm unprepared for the real world?

Maybe I could ask her to let me take 4 classes in the fall.

I can't take the bus this year because last year we went to a meeting and the transportation people were supposed to come, but they didn't. Also, my mom's busy this summer, so she can't talk to them.

That sounds like more of an availability issue- trust me, I've been there. Getting your permit is the first step.

I never said she was a bad mother, but she's going to have to realize at some point that you can also make decisions in life that aren't restricted by her limitations.
