Oddly enough, when I was in high school, no one commented on my height or even seemed to care.

I have to agree a bit with Dude. If anything, around where I live, nobody ever seems to care about height.

Men supposedly continue to grow in height until around 25, though it's a pretty marginal amount.

As others have said, you wouldn't want to associate with people who would judge you for your height. Try to find positive things about yourself. For example, I'm short (like 5'3" in shoes). I never have to worry about the following:

  • Hitting my head on doorways/ceilings/branches/etc.
  • Having to bend really far down to get things (like from the bottom shelf at the grocery store)
  • People stealing my shoes
Plus, it's distinctive. I'm tiny and adorable, like a kitten. You should embrace what makes you unique.

You could also wear platform shoes, or have one of those experimental procedures done where they break your legs, put in metal rods to space out the bones, and grow longer bones as a result.

Are you saying I COULD grow a couple of inches?

Hell, my sister grew an inch at 25-26.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I did some Googling and discovered that shorter people have one distinct advantage. Well, medium sized people anyway. The shorter you are, the shorter your nerves are or whatever and you have a very small advantage because this increases reaction speed. So yeah, that's cool. Wish I explained it better, but eh.

When I went to the pharmacy yesterday, I noticed there were several women who were about my height, or slightly taller.

Well, women usually are between 5'2 and 5'5.

VGA, seeing as you can't really change this about yourself, your only option to make things better is to put it behind you and focus on other things. Bomby had a really good point. Your height should not define your personality or worth in your eyes or in the eyes of anyone else.

All women are different. Some women prefer men who may be shorter than them, some women are taller/shorter. Society and media often portray relationships in a very heteronormative, static way - each partner looks like x, has the traits of y, and so on. It's bunk. We let ourselves be dictated by these cultural norms that really, we would be better off without.

So don't worry. There are plenty of women who don't mind men being their height, or shorter, or don't care at all. This myth that "all women prefer X" is just that - a myth.
