Bad Combination.
My guinea pig died today, and I've had this painful nostalgia going on today, especially after getting freaked out by seeing
Wolverine's murdered wife and children in 'Old Man Logan'
when I was at a bookstore today. It was just depressing.
I know it was an animal, it's rough because she's been my sort of room-companion, she was a great little pig. Very chubby, and her chirping was so adorable and pleasant to here, she would run around it short little bursts, apparently it was called 'popcorning.' I know there's a LOT worse things that could happen, but it still hurts.
The nostalgia stuff has been getting at me for a while, I'm caught up with things that I really miss while living in today, and even if I could somehow go back, I'd be losing so many things here today. It's painful and it has been for a while. I won't let myself get over stuff that happened a while back. It's not healthy, I know.
Hopefully this is the part where I get advice and/or empathy, I dunno. Thanks for taking the time to read.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your pet. It's always very sad when you lose a companion of any kind and especially one you loved. *hugs*
Regarding the 'nostalgia stuff', it immediately reminds me of a form of saudade.
You know, 1-Up, it is okay to miss things/people and to grieve for what is missing. And everyone grieves at their own rate, so give yourself time to accept the changes that have occurred in your life.
In the meantime, is there any way you can revisit your past? Perhaps easing some of your nostalgia by acquiring some thing that is meaningful to you? It is okay to give yourself permission to 'get over stuff' in your own time, too. However, if it is causing distress and/or depression, do you have someone you trust who you can have a long talk with to help?
*hugs* Here's a grinnie just for you... (When you're feeling down, you can squeeze it and it won't mind!)

Dude, there's no "it's an animal", or "just a guinea pig"; the chubby little girl was your pet, your fuzzy friend, and important to you. I'm so sorry she's gone, especially while you're already feeling down. Grieving her loss is completely appropriate and normal, and you shouldn't invalidate your emotions by trying to "put it into perspective". Loss is painful, sometimes completely heartbreaking, even over a little guinea pig. *hugs*
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

^Thanks a lot, all of you. I've been doing a lot better.
I really appreciate everything that all of you have said. Thanks.
Yeah, I still have most of the stuff from my childhood. I do have people to talk to, fortunately. It just often feels like I'm the one struggling with it the most, y'know what I mean? It's weird, feeling like you're caught by something from a while back.Heroine of the Dragon wrote:I'm so sorry for the loss of your pet.
