Apparently even if dad locked the door (unusually enough, despite being from Detroit he constantly forgets to lock the doors at night) it wouldn't have mattered since there are scratches all over the door lock. -_-;

nobody's hurt and not much was stolen (at least that wasn't replacable) but god dammit, they did it at 3 AM. What kind of moron does that when people are obviously going to be inside the house?

That's rough, man. Happened to us once when I was a kid---no one got hurt, but I was a long time getting over that crawly 'strangers were rummaging through our damn house' feeling. Hope you and yours get past it all right.

Update:

-We have not found any keys or games missing
-The stranger went through our house into the garage...where he stole dad's iPod, my watch (Joke's on you man that cost maybe $15 tops.), empty SoBe and Gatorade bottles, my knee brace, and a bag of Dum Dums.
-he did not touch any keys
-We have not heard any news on whether or not he was caught.

That's a pretty crappy reason for breaking into a house. Last time I checked, empty energy drink bottles aren't so valuable. Heck, the only valuable thing I could think of would be that iPad.

Why would someone steal bottles?

^It's an iPod, with an O.

Everyone else thinks they were high. Why on earth would you break into a house and walk out with Dum Dums, too?

...So the only thing of worth stolen was an iPod? Wow.

Either way, that sucks, man... :<

*Gets smacked*

They've almost found out what the mystery flavor is.

Seriously though, it's good that what they took was mostly minor things (and an Ipod), hopefully you won't have any more trouble.
