Rescued pets are awesome and so loving in my experience. I do think they understand that people have helped them. :)
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

^If you haven't been following the story of Patrick he was found in the bottom of a garbage chute in a 22 story apartment building. I've been following his story and I'm absolutely in love with him. I just can't get enough of him. If I had the time AND the money (either I have one or the other).

Society has a lot to learn from gentle creatures like Patrick. -CSM

Once I have my own place I know I'm gonna want a dog again, and I think I'd like to adopt a rescued pet. Lookit him. <333
I believe in second chances, and that's why I believe in you.

My sister's Chihuahua (Luna) is technically a rescue dog. :) She never went to a shelter but it's pretty obvious that her owners had no interest in taking care of her (or even had any knowledge of how to take care of a Chihuahua) and she kept getting thrown from owner to owner who always thought they'd be taking care of her in the short-term.

When we got her, she was as big as a football, yet right now shes at least half that size from losing the weight.

Another of my friend's dogs was a rescue border collie who was abused before, so he never rolled on his back. However, I surprised their family because they walked into a room, and there he was on his back and letting me give him a belly rub. He only ever did that to one of them.
