Bomby vents in the Relationships forum yet again.

Alright, I'm going to keep this quick since I post here way too often about my silly little problems.

So back in July this really awesome girl started working at my current job. We got along right away. A week later I found out she was a lot younger than I am (incoming college freshman), but the more I got to know her the less I cared. She seemed to really like me, too. She was easy to talk to, had a good sense of humor, and, well, ridiculously ****ing gorgeous. We used to make silly faces at one another and... yeah, it was a cute little friendship.

So anyway she decided to leave at the end of August due to school starting, since she would have no access to a car at work and would have to bus out, yadda yadda yadda. Before she left I asked her if she'd like to keep in touch, and she seemed genuinely interested. Only problem is, and I know this from my own experience, once you leave a place (i.e. an old job) and transition to another (i.e. college), the former place tends to evaporate, and all the people and friendships you had there become a distant memory that you don't miss as much as you thought you would.

So a couple weeks after her last day (which seemed like kind of an emotional day for both of us, as the last thing she did before she left was come over to the side of store I was on and wave goodbye with a genuinely sad looking face) I gave her a call and asked her out to lunch. She said she had a boyfriend.

So yeah. I don't think she actually does, but it was probably her way of letting me down easy.

Long story short, I liked her a lot so I was very sad. I'm noticeably less sad now but I still kind of miss her and kind of wish there was a way for me to keep in contact with her without being some pathetic douche who keeps my heart set on her. I mean, it might not hurt to maybe make a little wall-post on Facebook asking how her classes are going and stuff, but yeah, I'd just be clinging on to a false hope or whatever. Can't really see a way to make this work, which sucks, because as I said earlier, I like her a lot. It could have been really awesome if it had worked out, but it didn't, and there's a 99.99999% chance it's going to stay this way.

Oh look, and I still wasn't able to keep it as short as I wanted to. Oh wells.

Anyway, that's all I've got to say about that. In other news, I just turned down another girl a couple nights ago. Not because of the girl that most of this thread was about, but because even though I like her a lot as a friend the feeling just isn't there. I guess I'm worried that I was leading her on a bit; I let her rest her head on my shoulder. But all I felt was the weight of someone's head on my shoulder. Nothing special.

Sorry to hear about your problems, Bomb.

Just remember not to dwell on the past for too long, and always stay hopeful for the future.

As they say, every cloud has it's silver lining, and I'm sure you'll find yours soon enough.

In times like this I ask the good book, namely this one:

And in the book there stands that there is always tomorow, so keep on breathing and remember that you should not let things like this bring you down.
Beep Boop absolutely not a bot!

^That's the best photograph of Keith Richards I've seen in a long time.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

It's better off this way, Bomby. She was actually a pod-person.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying
