Cars and drivers.
Because all of you see it so fit to bash pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users, I'm going to vent all my grudges against drivers of private automobiles.
-When the speed limit says 25 miles per hour, that doesn't mean you get to drive 50 miles per hour and run over (or almost run over) everything in your path.
-When you stop at a stop sign, if you still know how to do that, you don't get to stop in the crosswalk, where I may be walking across the street or running. You may not be able to see pedestrians but we still have the right of way. Stop BEFORE the crosswalk. I don't want to have to run around your ass and breathe your sulfur dioxide, either.
-Look behind you before you back up, because I might be behind your vehicle in the crosswalk.
-Look behind you before you open your car door after you park. Seriously, the other night someone opened his door right as I was walking by.
-If you're driving on a busy street and there are no sidewalks or crosswalks for a long time, WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS CROSSING. In a lot of situations where pedestrians cross without a crosswalk, that's because there is simply no crosswalk for a mile. It could take 20 minutes to walk to the crosswalk, another two to cross the street, and then another 20 minutes to walk back to where you were on the other side of the street.
-Remember: turning vehicles yield to pedestrians. I once almost got ran over ON THE SIDEWALK while running when a car decided he could pull into his driveway.
Look up "The Weekly Carnage" on Google and you'll see some examples as to why private automobile drivers shouldn't have to be kings of the road.
Thank you. -CSM

Nobody felt it was necessary to say what I'd already said, bro.Crazyswordsman wrote:^I've seen more people support the statements than try to rebuke them. -CSM
BTW, I have to say that, as a driver, I find it frightening how many other people have no goddamn clue what they're doing on the road. When you hear that other people are, you know, evaluated for all kinds of important positions in society or goverment, and they're supposed to know what they're doing - like doctors, prosecutors, engineers, anyone - doesn't anyone else ever think about that?
"Yeah, but we actually test for **** like driving and look how many people actually do what they're supposed to do."
That's what I think. Those people have been trained to drive, and they still do it terribly.
Some stuff I deal with frequently:
Tailgating, turning/changing lanes without signaling, swinging into the road to turn, stopping completely to turn, people passing you only to slow down and turn, idiots who think that because a lane is wide it is 2 lanes without a line, people who turn into the lane next to you from a perpendicular road, illegal U turns right in front of you, high beams in the middle of the city, people who don't hit the brakes until they've near rear-ended you, people who run red lights, people who don't accelerate at green lights, ones who use the turning lane to pass, ones that don't slow down at roundabouts, and TOTAL MORONS WHO DON'T WAIT FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR BEFORE ENTERING AN INTERSECTION OR ROUNDABOUT.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying
