Saving My Girlfriend

#1

Post by Random User » Sun Jul 03, 2011 4:32 pm

So I have been in a relationship with a girl I met online for a month or so now after knowing her for three months. And so we were texting each other, as my parents decided not to take my texting away after all. She said she felt nervous and uneasy since she was out with friends in town at one in the mourning in the middle of town. I decided to stay up with her and text her to get her to feel at ease. She had met some guy earlier in the day that her friends wanted her to meet. They all found him and her and this guy, named Starr, they were alone since her group of friends left. She was nervous and I told her to tell me if he tries anything. I get a text seconds later saying "Help." So I call her as fast as I can, not knowing what else to really do, and she picks up and acts as if I'm her mother calling her home, then hung up.

Ten minutes I was worried about what had happened until she called. Her voice was really shaky, and she told me the guy had her pinned to the wall and had her pants down when I called and let her go since she had to go. If I hadn't called, I don't know what would've happened, but I don't really want to. But, wow. I just physically protected my girlfriend from hundreds of miles away.

She kept thanking me and I stayed on the phone with her until she got home safely. I felt pretty good afterwards.

I think you did the best thing you could've done. I'm so glad it worked out. Mighty fine job, there.

1) Awesome work by you.

2) Have you spoken to her about reporting this guy? That's attempted sexual assault/rape, right there. That's serious stuff, and she has the opportunity to turn him in so he doesn't do that to anyone else. At the very least, she could probably talk to an officer or counselor and review her options.

Might wanna suggest that she get some less douchey friends, too. They just abandoned her with a stranger?

And remember, "I'm-a Random User, number one!"

Yikes. Hope your girl's dealing with this well, bud. Make sure you bring up reporting him to the authorities, as ZG mentioned. No one should have to go through that kind of thing.

Yeah, she's been doing fine and doesn't think much of it now. I've asked her to tell her mom, but she's nervous about what her mother would say. I left it alone then, since she was still a bit shaken, but I'll talk to her about it again now that she's feeling better.

How does one discretely text for help while in the midst of a sexual assault?
