People who hate on preowned game stores
Now I know this seems childish but I'm just sick and tired of people who expect full price back after they bought a game. I understand that your madden games cost 64.94 after tax but two years later who's going to buy them the stores almost take a loss when buying games like that.
And yes paying you 30 dollars and selling for 50 is called profit people. That's how they pay the employees. Oh and the argument we put developers out of business. Ha! Who is it that advertises the game and asks for pre orders and midnight launches. The store!
Wait we don't care about the customers? Oh no we don't! Not after a 7 day money back guarantee on new if unopened and used period. And a 30 day replacement guarantee free. Oh and that 1 year warranty you ignore. And the tech support and how we listen to you're yelling about us being evil and how you'll never shop here again just to see you a week later.
And ID's I'm sorry we card you according to the law! Otherwise we can get fired and fined up to 1000 dollars! Aw man and then when the ID is nothing like you and you don't know your own date of birth. Oh and how you hate it when we tell your mother about the reasons why its rated M. How could we be so thoughtless to your needs. The parent deserves to know what you're buying. And the blatant theft. I had a man grab a display xbox 360 box and walk off with it until I told him nothing was in it when he came back and lied saying "Just testing how alert you are!" Oh and I'm sorry I can't hold a Kinect for you when we have 50 other people in line buying one while you drive over here. We start doing that we'd have a riot break out.
And the guys who get so pissed at you for not having what they want they accidentally knock over entire shelves! You know how hard it is to take one of those off! Then the parents who let their kids get away with bloody murder. Aw you spilled you food. Oh, well its not my house let them deal with it. And who leaves a frigging diaper that's been used on the floor. A trash can right out the door.
And then their are the seasonal employees who never show up! I can understand if your dad dies. Its a good reason to miss work. Oh and health problems. That don't just develop right before your shift. What's that you had open heart surgery a month prior to getting hired. Why didn't we know? There is clearly a space for it. What you somehow started to develop dyslexia? In a job where the majority of the work is filing and alphabetizing? Yet you still all manage to use your discount frequently enough. Oh and just not showing up after the first week with no notice is nice to. "Aw its to hard." That's why its called work. Tough Nugies. And it's better than flippin burgers right?
Sorry I just had a couple pissed off customers and I handled it very calm and politely mainly because my District Manager was right there. Excuse the rant now I can go to work tomorrow calmly and without a murderous intent. I will now withdraw into my trolling shell.

The whole "publishers not gettin enough money" thing is bunk. It's their own fault for creating and maintaining a poor business model.
Same thing for piracy. We used to get games on carts, with extra hardware specialized to run the games built in. You can't bootleg state-of-the-art tech like that until years after the fact.
People should stop acting like this is the only way the games industry can be.
You want to shop at Best Buy and have the "wide" variety of options of Halo, Madden, or Guitar Hero? Be my guest. Where are you gonna find that game that's out of print, though? Don't tell me people don't buy games that aren't being made currently. We all know you don't have 60 free hours to play through a new game once a week.
And anyone that says Amazon or Ebay is an equal or superior option isn't trying hard enough, because I like to see what I'm paying money for in the used market. We're not all about getting ripped off.

I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

What Chunky said. Those shops rule and I wish more were around tbh.
And yeah people don't seem to realize that the store is allowed to pay a price to make a profit and not just refund you for the game and give you interest as well.
(I've only heard of one person being even close to being ripped off by Gamestop and I'm guessing he left some detail(s) out)
People are lucky to find a store that will actually buy your old games from you when you want to make a quick buck/want to clear out some of your junk from your shelves and shizz.
On stuff like the dirty diaper thing...
1) Ew.
2) I think a couple of Sim Kid's past topics including You guys are lucky that the janitors haven't gone on strike yet. (Warning: Gross) tend to point out just how nasty people seem to be in public places and how much it sucks. :/
keep on truckin dude
also, I can't help but at least chuckle at the theft guy. xD
"Just testing how alert you are!" should becomea universal excuse.

A lot of the issues I have with the Gamestops nearby can be summed up as bad employees/negligent managers, bad experiences from people who do stupid crap in public, and stuff that's explainable. Yeah, the "We'll give you $5 for a used game then sell it for $30" is because they have to make money, I don't like it either. They make, what, $5-10 on a game you buy new? That's not the cashier's fault. (Heck that's not even the store manager's fault - s/he's only following the rules to keep employed and profitable) Technically the most consumer-friendly business model would wind up putting them out of business because then they'd just hand it to you for free. Of course if they are taking a game that's in nice enough condition and selling it as "new"...
However, at the Gamestop in the mall, several of the employees are just...ugh. Please don't hold the line up to talk with your friends - You're probably going to get fired for that. Yeah you can give me recommendations if I ask, but if you say "Grow a dick and get Gears of War" because I'm buying something else. Also, to the one in the mall: Please tell Stinky to take a bath or at least put on some Old Spice. The knife store next door can smell him and they've complained numerous times about the smell. UGH. I think they should also get the mall owner(s) to look at the ventilation or something, maybe it's just really really poor.
However they generally only tend to sell used games within a certain range. There's another game store across town that sells mostly used games but also really old ones that Gamestop doesn't have, in addition to third-party manufactured hardware. (I saw a superconsole that played NES, SNES, Genesis, and Master games for sale there) The gamestops out here don't even carry Game Boy Advance games used. Probably for space concerns, but no offense, I'm not going to a Gamestop if I'm looking for an out-of-print Dreamcast game. :/
And as for the people acting gross in public...Yeah. >.<; GIFT, Tragedy of the Commons, etc at its finest. (Unless there's another name for that phenomena) You pretty much hit it on the head.
...course some people are just messed up. (Yeah, I read that saga about "Jed", and have seen lazy teenaged boys)
It's obvious you need one of THESE right now, Chibimod:

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Great one! People who do that kind of stuff... wow... why not just punch them straight in the nose and say, "Just testing how resilient to physical trauma your face is! Don't take it personally, you'll heal just fine. It'll actually make you stronger; your face'll become harder." What, can they argue with their own logic? "Just testing your reflexes! Why didn't you move?"I had a man grab a display xbox 360 box and walk off with it until I told him nothing was in it when he came back and lied saying "Just testing how alert you are!"
Yeah, and selling it back two years later and trying to get the full price. That's bull stuff. We don't even do that with books, let alone magnetic/electronic devices.
