Taking a break from the dating game

#1

Post by Sean P Kelly » Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:48 pm

I've come to the realization that at my age (2 8) that most girls will probably not even consider seriously dating me until I get a job and/or move out on my own.

The last real connection I made through online dating said straight out that she probably wouldn't see me as more than a friend (though we still talk through MSN).

I have become very burned out from trying to find someone and I am taking a break from it for a couple months as I concentrate more on getting my life together. Who knows, maybe I'll luck out and meet someone the old fashioned way.

I think you're right in the sense that women will respect you more if you get a job and move out on your own, but not because it's sad or pathetic or anything, but because they'll see a man who is doing something with his life and cares about his life.

Listen to me when I say, it is SEXY when a man respects himself.

If you love your life, women will be attracted to you. My advice: concentrate on making your life the way you want it. Whether that means getting a job, moving out, starting a business, getting a hobby, joining a club, whatever...do it. If you're happy, you won't think about dating and women will be thinking about you and how great it is that you're confident in yourself. A man that is constantly looking for a woman and isn't happy without one is perceived as desperate and lonely.

What I'm trying to say is, good for you; I hope you keep this train of thought up. :)

UN has really got the right ideas there. Just do the things you love, and try new things, be confident and happy with yourself. It'll make finding someone less imperative when you're thinking about the other things in your life, and you never know where you'll meet someone you have a great connection with! Keep your chin up, Sean. :)
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.
