Abbr. thread title: Highway gawkers
Full thread title: People who brake on the freeway to gawk at cars that were in accidents* with no injuries.
What should've been a 2 hour drive back from picking up my brother took us 3.5 bleeping hours. I was bleeping hungry; we should've been home & fed before it even got bleeping dark. People kept bleeping braking for no bleeping reason. There were at least 5 bleeping accidents, each with its own 10+ mile traffic backup. I'm willing to bet at least 1 of those accidents was caused by some jackhole bleeping braking without warning to gawk at another accident.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
*(but clearly are still operational enough to have driven onto the shoulder, thus no longer being an obstruction to traffic, so don't use that as an excuse, you douchetard in the navy blue Neon)

^Ha, those are the exact same directions that I was dealing with yesterday.
Simple driving protocol: Unless you're exiting or trying not to hit some idiot who cut you off, NEVER brake on the freeway. Coast down your speed instead.
You see a cop? Coast down your speed.
You're catching up to the group in front of you? Coast down your speed.**
You just noticed you're accidentally 30 mph over the limit? Coast down your speed.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
**(Especially don't come within a meter of hitting somebody before switching to the completely-empty passing lane, jackhole.)

^^^ I usually press my brakes first, so that the jackass who's been tailgating me knows that I'm slowing down, then I let go and coast.
Still, I CANNOT AGREE WITH THIS MORE. Stop and go traffic is bull no matter what, but it is MORE so when it is just due to gawkers, and when I'm driving a stick shift with a clutch that is starting to act somewhat old.
Raeg @ rubbernecking.

I believe in second chances, and that's why I believe in you.

Very nice. I do that on normal roads.CuccoLady wrote:^^^ I usually press my brakes first, so that the jackass who's been tailgating me knows that I'm slowing down, then I let go and coast.
I also liked when I used to drive cars with no middle brake light, 'cause then during the day I could fake them out by switching on my taillights.
