He just found out about it today. Luckily it's in the early stages and they can get it out on Monday. Still, I pray for him. -CSM

I feel pretty sorry for him, but I would more if I knew what a melanoma is.

So will I. I'll keep him in my head Monday.

I think my mom had melanoma once, long ago.

MeowMan: It's a kind of cancer.

It's good that they caught it early. I hope they're able to get it out without too much trouble. You and your family take care, and let us know how things go.

Best of luck. Here's hoping it all works out.

I'm sure he'll be fine, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for him, and keep a sparkling horseshoe well at hand for enhanced good luck.

And just a tip, bud: Research has shown that good times can help put cancer into remission. Having fun can be your best weapon against it. So don't be afraid to show your old man a good time.

Good luck. Cancer is always a scary word to throw about, because in our first-world lifestyle, we can live long enough to get it. There are plenty of non-fatal cancers though, and I hope that your father's treatment goes successfully.

Gonna repeat Ace here-- when someone is ill or not doing well, sometimes nothing can help their spirits [and in turn, their fight against the illness] like fun, family, and love.

He's in my thoughts as well-- as are you. :{)
I believe in second chances, and that's why I believe in you.

Thanks everyone. Here's an update:

The surgery had to be put off for two weeks because of an allergic reaction, so I'm a little more scared now, although he seems to be nonchalant. -CSM

For an early-stage diagnosis, two weeks is practically nothing. If it was late-stage, that two weeks could be a life-or-death decision, but in his situation, it's not a big deal.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
