Heavy Rain's Length

I beat this game recently and I am disappointed by how short it was. I thought I was maybe half-way through the game and all of a sudden I could tell the game was getting toward the end. Why on earth would they release the game with such few hours of gameplay? I've heard of the game having speed runs of around 4 hours. I beat the game in around 7 hours. Very disappointing, really.

It's the longest movie you've ever seen, i'm sure.

I only seen glimpses of the game (I would really like to see this game released on PC) so I can only assume the reason the game is so 'short' is because there are so many cinematics for any direction you take in the game. So if you were to discover all of the possibilities you can choose I would guess you would get well over 7 hours of gameplay.

because its terrible

also a game being speed runned in 4 hours doesn't make it short (in fact in most cases that would make it long)

I think it's the multi-branching paths. It's also got different endings depending on which of your characters can survive the whole way through.

However, you can choose different dialogue routes and even sometimes total gameplay routes in Dragon Age: Origins throughout the game, and yet it has over 100 hours of gameplay. I think they just ran out of ideas in Heavy Rain.

Of course speed running most games at four hours would make it long, but not in this case. Four hours puts it soley in the "really long movie" category, which lets me down.
