People who act tough in threads, then cry like babies when I question their beliefs.

TITLE DOES NOT REFER TO BOO, I WILL PUNCH PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THAT

Think of this as an extension of Codiekitty's 'My Opinion ruined everybody's christmas." (If I may do so, I would call it "Oops, my opinion accidentally set someone on fire again.")

There will be a debate thread in the other forum, right? Some people will be acting tough or making big assertions of their beliefs. Then I'll take exception of one or more of them, then provide my rebuttal. Oftentimes, these people will have made 'big, tough' assertions at that. So I think they can take a bit of a punch to the gut, right? So I just say my mind there.

Then, contrary to my expectations, they just... implode. You name it. Some of them run off crying, other ones go insane instead of responding and stop bothering to debate, and others who haven't read the thread pop in, randomly insult me, then run away, as apparently they're too afraid to face my opinion.

I just don't get it. Why do these people write these checks with their big tough arguments if they can't take it when I respond with my own? Half the time I'm not even using full volume and it just socks them right in the gut, causing them to react with trolling or madness. It's just ridiculous. They go and assert how tough their opinion is, then I go to test that, and they just start falling to pieces.

The worst part is that it usually happens when it's just an opinion--I mean, there have been some heated battles with Metal Mario over something, and he could take the same sort of stuff he dishes out. I may consider some of his opinions completely insane, but hey--at least he can take the counter-blows, even if he tends to skew towards not-always-allowed nastygram-style responses.

What is it with these other people? Why do they advertise themselves as having this big, tough opinion if they can't take a standard "I disagree, for reasons X, Y, and Z?" And when I make a mistake, why can't they just clearly call me out on it, instead of making a bunch of cryptic taunts? What is it, really?

Because the ridiculous part is I don't even use half my nastiness that I used to, yet at times, people react like I just began flailing around the combined evil of Godwin comparisons and wild character assassination attacks.

And while we're at it, Loot, do you have the guts to actually say why you called me a dick, or are you too afraid of my nonexistent toughness? Because I don't actually intend to come off as some overbearing troll warlord out to drive people insane by smashing everyone's buttons, as much as some of my statements might have led you to believe.

It's just absurd, is all. Back when I actually was out to drive people nuts, it took people several years to bother reacting, but when I attempt to dial down the volume these days, it seems to be like setting people on fire. I don't get why people venture their opinions out on a public internet forum if they're that vulnerable--I mean, god forbid Metal Mario had some of my opinions and started attacking people. It'd be a horrible massacre.

And if someone decides to use this thread to do what I just described, I may just choose to stop caring and point and laugh at said people.

Well, guys like MMario aren't exactly batting 1000 in the logic department. Then again, you aren't omniscient, either. Your seeming inability to grasp your unintended arrogance is actually something you tend to share with other-MM. I wouldn't worry about pissing off a few people, as long as you're not totally belligerent. Guys like that are fun to piss off, and you're basically missing the point if you expect them not to get pissed.

If, on the other hand, you piss off someone like Boo, or Hayfever, you're probably the one being a prick. There are plenty of people who have invested a lot of their energy and time actually using their heads. Just because they haven't come to what you perceive as a flawless conclusion doesn't give you any particular right to stick it to them.

Besides, you're funny to provoke.

I made three different responses, then trashed them all, because I realized that if sugar-coating it made me "evil" to you, then I may as well take off my gloves and give you the undiluted version. I don't care to curse usually, but your especially thick-skulled response to my words warrants this rare lapse in my decorum. So here you go; hope you understand it this time. Or maybe you won't, and I'll have to hang blazing neon lights on it and try yet again. God, you're as dense as I am sometimes.

*Ahem*

I don't really give a s#$% about this political correctness business. None of the other places I go to on the internet seem to care much either. In fact, you're the one and only person who claims this bulls#$% about me, and every time I check with everyone else I know, they seem to be first to say you're either lying a green streak or not paying attention to whatever the f#$% I'm saying.

Normally I try to be polite everywhere I go, so as to coat the nasty things I have to say, but for whatever reason, you and those other people think it's some attempt to rip them to pieces. It's just f#$%ing hilarious. I spend my time, wrapping my words in bubble-wrap so I don't accidentally injure someone here, and then BAM! Suddenly I'm super villain for the week because I 'dared to call their argument incomplete.'

What the f#$%? WHAT THE F#$%? What the hell kind of argument is that? That's some real s#$% right there. If your argument is incomplete, then complete it! Heck, go on and call me all the names ya want while you do it. But don't start throwing a temper tantrum over it, then act like I said that in order to rip you to pieces.

'Cause you want to know something? Those words were wrapped in that goddamn bubble wrap so you wouldn't have to listen to this. But if you don't like it, fine!

I'll just do whatever the hell I feel like then, since being polite is an insult to you. Maybe if I rub it in your face just how pretentious you sound when you go around, acting like some smug gentleman, dispensing new-age gimcracks about how the world is this, and the world is that. No it isn't! You just think you have all the answers.

No, I see it right here, in your arrogant little diatribe about how I must suffer for my personality. F#$% that, you're no better than I am! And wouldn't you know it, Boo and CaptHayfever aren't much better than me either.

Which is why it baffles me to no end that I can have a perfectly decent argument with everybody else on the internet... but for these special 'wonder twins' who suddenly are holier than me and therefore can't be contradicted because that 'insults their intelligence.' Really? Reaaaally? Are you really saying that? So what, my intelligence is meaningless? 'Cause you just did the same thing to me with your words!

*Shakes head* You know, AI, sometimes you act very smart, but all you're revealed to me is that sometimes, you're just a hypocrite. Too bad, really... because there isn't any reason for you to be acting this way. You'd think that since we act so much alike, we wouldn't have any problems.

Since there doesn't seem to be any rational reason except for "I find your pain amusing", I'm going to have to ask what bit you in the a#$ years ago to make you feel this way, because I have this feeling there is a FASCINATING story behind how somehow CaptHayfever and Boo can walk on water, while I deserve an anvil to the face for existing. Really. Humor me. What is it, man? Did a time traveling me kick you in the face when you were a baby? Or maybe you got the idea that I kicked puppies from someone?

Lord knows, maybe it'd be easier if I was actually this imaginary person you keep referring to. Then I wouldn't have a personality to be bothered by this bullcr#p people keep spewing about me in these rare cases.

And you types who read this and start laughing at how it sounds... hope you chuckle hard and long. Because that's what this situation is: f#$king absurd. Because for 90% of the world, I bubble-wrap my words and people, as a result, can just sorta let them sit there and move on.

But here? No! Most people here let them sit, but then these special people just friggin' explode!

You'd think I coated them in radium or something. What the f#%k?

Well, you just successfully pulled a "why aren't I speshful/everybody lissen to meh" essay out of your ass.

Congratulations. There's pizza in the oven if you want it.

I'd like to be the dashing hero and ride to defend the victim here, but I wasn't here from the beginning, so I don't know what's going on.

^That, however, I was here to see. I hate it when people do that to me. Don't just grab a single paragraph from a huge post and make fun of it, Cheeze. Think of paragraphs in a post as sentences in a paragraph: They all build to a single idea. You didn't address the idea behind his post.

Don't do that. It's as annoying as quote-mining.

If I could walk on water, literally OR figuratively, don't you think I would've exploited it to no end by now? :)

I really don't know what this is about. In general, I try to avoid the sorts of behaviors you're railing against here. That's actually why I post so sparsely (by comparison) in a lot of the debate threads; if I don't have something either productive or funny to contribute, I stay out of the way.

And Boo is one of the calmest dudes on this site. I don't know how anyone could think your original post was about him. Val was clearly joking, as he often does.

You're not actually 'included', heh, I meant AI's mention of you and Boo. I just have no clue what causes him to think you and Boo are special in his thinking. You and Boo are actually pretty cool by comparison, and Boo got mad at a stupid assumption I made rather than something I said that was trying to be polite, so it's cool with me and him. (Val isn't included either, since he was obviously joking.)

I hope Deku continues to enjoy the show. I am a good actor, after all. :p

Huh, that's rather considerate of you, to warm a pizza for me. *Eats the pizza*

Although you're missing one little detail; I'm asking AI that, not you/all of VGF. That'd be ludicrous, since only about two-three people tops (not including Boo/Capt) behave the way I speak of in the post. Although the free attention will do fine. *nods*

In case someone is confused, I meant to say 'On certain levels, Boo and CaptHayfever are not terribly different than me about trying to be politically correct with their sentences.' Hence my curiosity as to how when I do it during my attempts to clean up a mess (see the previous NRA battle) people like Loot feel offended by it, while people like AI are amused by it. While when someone like Boo or Capt uses it, there is no offense or amusement going on. Maybe a bad comparison because I don't recall either of them using it to clean up a 'situation' but for the sake of argument basically going 'What's so funny, eh?' mixed with 'What'd I do to make you feel that way, shoot your grandma?'
