I've still never seen Fosters sold here.
And oddly enough, I only knew of it from "Beneath a Steel Sky" and my uncle drinking it in Vegas.

I was always a bigger fan of Game Crazy myself, but the only one near my house just got canned. :(

And I don't ever bother trading my games in because so far for every game I've traded in that I owned for more than a month I've wanted to play again after it was gone.

Gamecrazy is apparently shutting down everything. The GC/Hollywood video chain is supposed to enter liquidation in about 2 weeks. If they do a typical "'going out of business" sale (where they jack everything to MSRP and take off discounts), you might be able to get decent deals on games since games rarely fall below MSRP when that happens. At the very least snagging the XBL/Wii point cards at 10% off is worth it on its own. Generally speaking though, the liquidation sales are usually garbage.

While Amazon is generally the best place to get games new, there really isn't an excuse to shop at Gamestop when every other big box retail store has better deals and actually runs sales periodically. Best one being Toys R Us running the "BUY 2 GET 1 FREE" or "BUY 1 GET ONE 50% OFF" sales. Even Best Buy on normal prices is a better deal because of the Reward Zone card. They have a "Gamer Club," which gives you monthly bonus points offers (usually on new releases), coupons, and a $10 gift cert. after $150 in gaming purchases (so what, 3 games or so without bonus points?).

Again, why would anyone shop at Gamestop when there are so many better options even without jumping on the 'net.

^Pretty much just on the off chance that they have a used game in decent condition at a lower price. Thats all I can think of.

The only used games I've gotten from Game Stop that haven't ended up being junked are the Mega Man Battle Network games and Tales of Phantasia. Everything else, bah.

Speaking of which, I need to see if the copy of God Hand at the nearby FYE is in working condition. Think it's the only time I've ever seen it in a store.

Might be a thing of the past, but I used to get pretty good prices at a local store near Cleveland. I picked up the first Metroid Prime for about 8 bucks, brand new. They even carried obscure titles pretty often, which is more than I can say for the wall of Tony Hawk, Madden, and Guitar Hero most of the Best Buy stores consider a gaming section around there.

Birmingham lives in 1975, so everything entertainment wise has been spread out to it's greater area. Have to drive at least 15 minutes to get to any store that may sell games, along with traffic (due to few/narrow lanes and a bunch of other BS), and that's on the main highway, tack on an additional 10-15 minutes if you wanna take 280 to get to Best Buy which is about a 20 minute ride + traffic headache away, same with Target, hardly anything around. The only positive is that I really don't play games anymore, and have other things I wish to spend my hard earned cash on.

There IS a place called Replays about 30 minutes from where I live, I don't go there often, but I do go there occasionally and grab some old games for my 64 and get some cheap games for the Wii or whatever else.
