^Stereotypes? How?

I'd say more 'archetypes' (less negative connotation), but most characters ARE archetypes; it's the way that they are fleshed out that makes them unique, rather. Most FF games have formulaic ways of creating characters, but most have a few things that make them individual from the rest.

A lot of the characters from FFX, and I've said this before, seem very much like characters from Breath of Fire II, as does the plot.

And I just don't like archtypes. The cold, reserved girl, the knowledgeable guru, the bubbly ditz, it seems every game has them. I like characters that are more original, and to a lesser extent, are funny, or are characters who seem to turn on you and become an enemy or an ally. -CSM

I don't think it's possible for there to NOT be archetypes anymore.

Or, you could just do what Itoi-san did and take RPGs in a completely different direction. -CSM

This neat graph shows why many people don't like many newer Final Fantasies.

On a more serious note.

I finally beat stupid Zodiark and his stupid Darkja which stupidly insta-KOs the party. -CSM

Ditto. By the time you get him on your party, your team is probably many levels above him.

Hell Wyrm was the opposite of Zodiark. While Zodiark was hard but short, Hell Wyrm was easy but long as hell (bad pun intended) (Stop immunity + usual gambits = you win this fight). -CSM

^I'm gonna take a break until I have some time, then I'm gonna do a run at Omega (I don't want to even THINK about the Great Crystal unless I have at least five hours to spare, which won't be for a long time considering my jam-packed schedule). After I beat Omega, I'm gonna try Yiazmat. Hell Wyrm took about 45 minutes, so I'm expecting about 6+ hours for Yiazmat. I'm gonna need an entire weekend for Yiazmat. -CSM

Wait...secret bosses in 12 take that long?

That's...pretty damn awesome, I suppose. Depends on which way you look at it.

1 million, 8 million, and 52 million HP for Omega, Hell Wyrm, and Yiazmat respectively (actually Hell Wyrm has about 170k HP but has like about 50 lives or something (he loses a life when he loses all his HP and I think when he loses a life you can save and reset and you can go back and he won't have his lost lives back, but I didn't have to do this). -CSM
