Re: Current game?
...so I tried playing with the little controller nuggets not attached together, and it's too weird. Even in the smelly Wii days, the upsetting Wiimote was connected to the gross other part via a horrible umbilicus. I can't, man, I can't dig it. It's too relaxed. I need to be hunched over and full of self-loathing. (Also I might somehow have frigged up and attached the weird hand-strappy other portions upside-down and backwards, and then been temporarily unable to detach them. You know, like a stupid person would. It's almost as though I were a very, very stupid person or something.) (Would any of you like a one-month subscription to my OF? You can see just how stupid I can get. (*tries very hard to undo belt-buckle for like forty-five minutes*))

Re: Current game?
I don't have a lot of multiplayer games outside of what's on NSO. I'll have to take a look but what comes to mind is Ultra Street Fighter 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 10:51 amOoh, hang on. I don't know if I care about 'Joe & Mac', but I'd totally play 'Pocky & Rocky' with you. They just done the remaster, and it's stupidly "not playable" on the XBOne. 'Doom Eternal' is playable on the XBOne, but the new 'Pocky & Rocky' is not. Makes total sense.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 7:47 pmHey, now I can pressure you into playing old games with me nobody else is interested in. It's Joe & Mac time, Boo!
I'm glad you're enjoying Odyssey, figured you would. Man, that beach level is something else, I feel like playing it again.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 9:33 amSo I started 'Odyssey' yesterday. Poured about eight hours into it. Man, that's a wild game. Already I like it about a hundred times as much as I liked SM64, and that's not a dis on SM64, as much as it is saying Ninty made themselves a new Mario game that's about a hundred times better than SM64.
I'd be overjoyed to hear a country song that's a hundred times as good as 'Pancho and Lefty', only it'd probably just be Willie and Merle singing 'Pancho and Lefty', maybe with Charlie backing them up on fiddle and Jerry styling on guitar.

...as it happens, the original 'Pocky & Rocky' isn't on the SNES app. Hmmm.

Re: Current game?
I spent about three hours dinking around in Sand Land, and I beat the bosses, found a whole bunch of moons, I couldn't see any more obvious things to do, found most of the special coins. Figured I was done. Nope, not even close--------------barely even a third of the moons! Frig, I can't even imagine where the others might be.

I beat the first totally-not-a-gym "trial" thing in Pokemon Ultra Moon. It's more fun than I gave it credit for but yeesh, it has awful pacing.

I started FF6.
...you know, if more JRPGs were like FF6, I might like JRPGs.

Re: Current game?
The SNES Final Fantasy games were great. I'm going to replay them eventually. I had started playing FF5 for the first time, but the job system seems complicated.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Re: Current game?
I started in on '#BLUD'. It's a looney action-RPG in the vein of LttP, but in a sort of pseudo-'Gravity Falls' setting (freshman new-kid-in-town girl realises her new town is infested by draculas and haints and booger-men and all). I'm enjoying it a whole real lot. Just had a rather challenging bossfight against a 'The Thing'-style demonic goatmonster.

Re: Current game?
FF6 was really good, but that final dungeon was too hard and I never finished it. I'd still rank it in the upper half of FFs regardless.

Re: Current game?
Ohh, wow. Apparently I was more right than I knew when I compared '#BLUD' to 'Gravity Falls'----------I found my way into one of those developer easter egg rooms full of concept art and cutscene animatics and stuff, and evidently '#BLUD' started out as an animated pilot for Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon or something. Wild.

Re: Current game?
Finished '#BLUD'. I thought it was really good-----------reminded me a lot of your isometric Zeldas. Loved the art-style (kinda wish more companies would opt for this cartoony style instead of pixels. As I said, it began its existence as a cartoon pilot, and it really does look akin to 'Gravity Falls' or 'Star vs the Forces of Evil').

Re: Current game?
I played a very very short Zelda-like called 'Castaway'. It has three small dungeons and a pseudo-Savage Labyrinth, and all the enemies are pretty much Tektites. Not bad, just super short.

The box art looks cute.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 4:21 pmI played a very very short Zelda-like called 'Castaway'. It has three small dungeons and a pseudo-Savage Labyrinth, and all the enemies are pretty much Tektites. Not bad, just super short.
I've been playing a little of Brandish: The Dark Revenant. It's a 3rd person dungeon crawler kinda thing. It's repetitive but pretty fun. A bit more focus on story could help.
