^That part of the NES app on the Switch?
I don't think so, at least not on the American version, I know the Japanese one (which apparently you can access too from what I heard, though I don't know how) has different games so it could be there. I'm playing it through "other" means, like a dastardly criminal.

Speaking of NSO, they added Banjo-Tooie recently, I know you're a Banjo guy. Hopefully this means Conker's Bad Fur Day is coming eventually, there's already lots of Rareware games on there, including another M-Rated one (Perfect Dark).

(*gasp of unmitigated horror*)

...I still love all that old Rare stuff, but it's all party to 'Rare Replay' on XOne. Thanks for the tip, though.

I'm trying out Metal Wolf Chaos XD, since I'm feeling patriotic! I'm not a huge Fromsoft fan, the only game I liked from them which I've tried is Lost Kingdoms (way underrated, unlike the Dark Souls series), but so far I think I'll add this to the shortlist.

You know, I got that when I was still working at the grocery store, and I still haven't so much as booted it up.

I started 'Tunic' this afternoon. So far I like it lots. Got that cryptic old Zelda feel.

You know, I appreciate how well-constructed and non-hand-holdy 'Tunic' is, what with you finding the game manual in the game and it being barely written in English, so you have to figure things out mostly on your own, and it makes progress extraordinarily satisfying. On the flipside of that, I'm a moron, so I spend lots of time wandering around aimlessly and not understanding what seem like basic game concepts.

I loved that kind of game design, but I don't have the patience or attention span I used to. Non-hand-holdy design is always more rewarding than arrows pointing you everywhere though, so it's worth drudging through it sometimes for a good game. I kinda had Tunic on my radar but it seems a little too difficult for me.

So I was stymied by 'Tunic' for a bit. You have to go a long dangerous way between checkpoints sometimes, and, well, one of those stretches happened, and I got sick of getting killed. So then just now I studied what I was doing wrong, and I went into 'look at me sideways and die' mode, and it worked. Little fox guy is a little less cute when he's lassoing bad guys off of cliffs and blowing people up from a distance with bombs and molotovs and his laser beam, but hey-------price of progress.

I don't know, that might make him even more cute, like Conker chainsawing Tediz as they scream in unadulterated agony whilst he laughs maniacally and cracks one-liners.

Name of game: The Witcher 3
Date played: Dec 28, 2024
Progress achieved: Finished the main story and started exploring side quests in Skellige. Got Geralt to level 35 and upgraded a bunch of gear.

I bought and played 'Mom Hid My Game! 2'. Like the first one, it was bonkers in that charming Japanese way.

Beating the game unlocked the blisteringly insane music video.

Half "catchy", half "nightmarish", like most Japanese music.

I just started Undertale. Catching up on the hype super late.

^It's wild to dip your toes into one of them super-memed games, right.

I was tardy to the party when 'Portal' came out-------------had stuff spoiled for me. I'm fine with it, but you can well imagine I bought 'Portal 2' on launch day and played it immediately.

I love Portal. It's basically perfect. I remember back in senior year of college, I introduced it to my roommate and she beat it in one sitting.

She was a pretty impressive gamer. She could beat Punch Out.
