A complex weekend

I had my 15-year high school reunion this weekend. Had fun, talked to people I hadn't seen in a while.
Today I found out that someone that I had seen alive and well at the party about 12 hours earlier is dead.

I'm finding feelings so difficult to process because the guy picked on me in school a long time ago, but he asked how I and my parents were at the reunion. I didn't know him well, but now I wanted to have known him better. I'm numb from the ordeal but almost being brought silently to tears moments later. The transition of life to death with such a sudden twist seems paradoxical and surreal.
All I am left with is one takeaway: Every moment you have matters. every moment is a time for you to use for good.
Find someone you care about that you haven't spoken to in a while and tell them that you care for them and love them.
Other than that, I got nothing.
