The one

I always thought it was her.
I've known this girl since high school and ever since the beginning, ever since the first time I had met her she had always been the one I wanted to be with.
She's smart, funny, attractive, crazy
And totally uninterested in me.
For the longest time I had given up hope on her because I thought I'd had no chance, then a few months ago she just wandered back into my life one night and we had an amazing time.
I made her really upset not too long ago and now she wants nothing to do with me. She won't even look at me when we're in the same room.
My soul has been effectively crushed, and my dreams shattered before my eyes.
I think this might be the worst I've ever felt in my life, if only because I had accepted we would never be only to have her dangled in front of my face again just so the universe can say "haha you can't have this"

It's probably my fault anyway

She seems unreasonable. Better off without someone so easily set off. Sorry though.

Yeah, I can relate to this. Sometimes, I want what I know in my right mind I can't have...which is probably how I lost my friendship with this girl whom I never could date for six years.
For the record, she's the same one who double-crossed me.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, monstr. Being let down like that really, really sucks.
But keep in mind, there's no such thing as "The One." You don't end up with someone because the stars align and destiny has chosen it; you end up with someone because you cultivate a relationship with them and grow together as people. There are many people in this world with who could be called "ones" for you.

Based on the limited information i have, I don't think one party is exclusively at fault. While I don't want to say straight up "she seems unreasonable" (because, again, limited information) I would like to point out that if you two can't work past what happened, that means that it likely wouldn't have worked out down the line.
Still, I'm terribly sorry that happened to you because you're awesome and stuff.

I came here to post essentially what ML posted. One of my favorite little phrases to remember whenever things don't work out with a girl that I think is totally the one: "Life is not Highlander. There can be more than One."

^And in real life, there's actually a plausible explanation as to why there isn't only One.

So go find someone equally smart, funny, attractive and crazy who is interested, dude.
One of the very few good things about there being so many, many of us ape-ghouls knocking about is that there are tons of options. It's a yucky cliche, but it has the ring of truth to it anyhow------there truly are plenty more fish in the sea.
Sorry about your disappointment, of course. It's tough. But bear up under it, man. Most people don't just luck into love.

I instantly thought that he killed all of the other versions of himself and became The One.
