So I'm having a big problem with going back to school. Since I was thrown out unexpectedly I was left unable to complete any of my classes, resulting in 14 wasted credit hours and a flat 0 GPA. Now that I have been allowed to come back, I can go back to school, except I'm on academic probation now. Meaning I cannot get student loans, meaning I cannot pay for school.
So, do I tough it out with the leftover student loan money I have and hope I can repay it later in an attempt to get my GPA up again? Or do I just forget about school? I honestly have no idea what to do at this point.
I'm calling the school about it tomorrow. I guess I'll update on how it goes if that'd help with getting me some kind of advice. I've been thinking on this for hours and I honestly just have no clue what I'm going to do.

Is there no way you can get your student loans again at all?

It may be possible. I called but got no answer, so I guess I have to wait it out until they're there or they call back.

From what I've seen (at least in illinois) academic probation the first time doesn't get rid of your student loans, so there's hope.[DOUBLEPOST=1392125640,1392125605][/DOUBLEPOST]I think you have to appeal it though, but you've got a case.

I'm still good for financial aid, so that's some good news at least.

Talk to the school definitely. If education is worth it to you, don't just give up. If you get no joy from whoever is on the phone, then find a way to get down to the school and ask to speak to someone who can help.
Good luck and I hope it all works out for you, RU!!

Don't forget about school unless there's no realistic way to make it work. I wish I could go to college.

Yeah, I scheduled an appointment for Thursday. Just hope the weather doesn't mess that up. I'm a lot less panicked about it now than I was when I posted this.

How does probation stop you from receiving loans, that sounds like awfully shady university dealings.

^I was mistaken, suspension does that.

Yeah, was gonna say that I was on academic probation for a semester and I still got my aid. Don't give up! There's always a solution even if you have to think outside the box a little :)

Yeah I just got to see a conselor about it today and I won't even really be that behind. I should have my GPA fixed by the end of the next Fall semester.
